Nystatiszna (Ny-stat-is-nuh), officially the Akuan State of Nystatiszna, is a sea bordering country in the Eastern Central Borea. Nystatiszna is bordered by Kæra'zna, Gusanaszna, Rusanru'a, Syrtænzna, Rikevaarland, Aduraszna and Blaskog. The geography is dominated by the mountains in the north and flat plains to the south, with four large lakes throughout the country. The climate is temperate to Hot summer subtype. Nystatiszna has a population of over 15 million.

The population is young and predominantly rural. Akuanism is the largest religion in the country and the principal language is Nys'tat'en with Vaaran and Norgsveltian official language. The sovereign state of Nystatiszna has transitioned into a parliamentary system of government with monarch as head of state after ruling by Senate consensus for 54 years. The president is Ayo Hoshi of the Kurintail Democratic Party (KDP), serving as the first president after the Executive Office Creation Act of 2019. In 2021-2022, underwent another massive government reform transiting to more democratic parliament style of legislative and hosting a election for monarch. Legally considering themselves to be a Akuan State, in December 2021 Crown Princess of Norgesveldet Ingrid won the election. Officially coronated on January 1st, 2022 and taking power in December 2021. Sapient rights organizations report suppression of civil rights groups, intimidation, kidnapping, labor camps, re-education/programming camps, assassination, election fraud and restrictions on freedom of speech. The country has been governed by a strict administrative hierarchy since it's founding by the Borea Trading Company.

The Borea Trading Company founded the colony in the early 1700s with the intent of harvesting pelts however, they quickly driven many of the animals to extinction and destroyed the majority of the native habitats.

In the current day, Nystatiszna is located in eastern Central Borea. The nation has been and still under much international scrutiny due to its former apartheid policies toward the Kemonomimi majority, favoriting the Zrei elf minority. As of 2022, the nation is undergoing massive social and political changes to combat former speciest policies, as according to Ingrid's 5 Year Plan. Economically the country has received heavily investment.

History

Prehistoric Era

The prehistoric Nystatiszna was primarily settled around the coastlines and the interior lakes. Making a living on fishing, agriculture, copper and tin mining within the region. Artifacts record shows that the societies in the region was reasonably wealthy in the Neolithic and Bronze age, however facing a minor dark age during the iron age with many of large urban centers being depopulated due to unknown events. The region that would be Nystatiszna primary be made up several different tribes, with the largest tribe coming from the eastern side of Borea descendants of the original kemonomimi travelers from the Rotantic Ocean. Ursines tribes having coming from the western Rotantic Ocean, having primarily settled along more of the interior rather than the coastal regions, favoring to hunt the roaming herds of mammoths. The Kemonomimi tribal mixed heavily with the Ursines during this time period, cultural boundaries heavily decreased between the tribes and the cross-culture mix grew into more singular cultural group.

Neolithic Period

The Paleolithic period is the period of sapient inhabitation in central Borea between, marked by the discovering of flint tools, farming, animal husbandry, decorated artifacts (such as pottery and statues) and discovery of beer. It's was discovered in the late 1930s that burial monumental in the far north of Nystatiszna, however it's forbade by the government to excavated the tombs and under heavy guard by NIB due to concerns of grave robbing. In 1990s' officially NIB allowed the excavating of a single monumental, the corpses inside tomb being preserved by the cold climate and discovery of intact flint tools and decorated pottery. Suggesting the graves may have been reserved trusted or brewmasters of the community. It's been request and approved by the Bureau in 2020 in January, by Universities of Leidenstad to excavate the rest of the burial sites for research purposes.

During the period, several ruins of settlements have been discovered in the 1764 by surveyors of the Borea Trading Company with the suggestions providing evidence that the ruins from the Neolithic period though, this has been heavily disputed. Many of them in a absolutely poor condition or only having the foundations reminding. The BTC destroyed the ruins and created a administration center on top of it. It is unclear what the BTC did with the reminds of the ruins, as according to a report from the era claims they sent the reminds back to Newport but it never arrived.

Many of the surviving records that describe the Neolithic settlements as a multi-species co-habitant with the large structures being for Ursines while the smaller structures are for the Kemonomimi. One of the main ways of telling the difference being the size of the doorway to the house. While the main buildings such as the granaries or smoke pits was built to Ursine size but had small doors next to it for the Kemonomimi.

The Bronze Age was primary around the modern day lake of Trist Innsjø, where copper was mined from around the lake and tin mined from the mountain that was believed three to-be a three days journey to the north. All bronze that wasn't imported or trade for came from a central city-state based around Trist Innsjø, it's unclear what happen to the city as no remains have been discovered. The only evidence of the city-state being the bronze tools themselves being traced to the copper deposits around the lake.

Outside of the major city-state on the lake. Varies small communities banded together to from federations over the vast region of Borea, however central Borea was the most populated by the varies Akuan federations. Many of them depending on the lake city state for the varies metals offering foodstuff in exchange. As the federations spread out away from central, less metal tools became common and more stone or flint tools become more-so in use.

Iron Age

The archaeological record for the Iron Age is rich in rural settlements along the coast lines and a large decrease in bronze artifacts. This is mainly due to the collapse of the city-state around Trist Innsjø and new discovery of iron smithing brought over from Concord via trading. There was indication of any social stratification between Zrei elves and Ursine, evidenced by separate burials where they formerly was buried together being the first of many insistences the species separating from each other in ways other than settlements. 1700s

In the early 1700s Zreiru’a Empire granted a charter to colonize the region to the (BTC) “Borea Trade Company. Originally the trading company was only allowed to harvest the pelts from animals in the region however the charter was later expanded to cover all natural resources in the country. Due to over harvesting of the animals of the region. Many animals such as the Nystatiszna deer, beaver and wolves have gone extinct as have most large animals in the region. Throwing the ecosystem into chaos, causing devastation still being felt today. The company responded to environmental collapse by clearing the forests for lumber and creating plantations for cash crops.

1800s

Into the early 1800s the plantations required a more consistent supply of labor than the colonists coming from the mainland. The BTC board of directors voted 9-0 to start to importing Kemonomimi slaves. Seeing the Kemonomimi people as more expendable compared to elven counterparts. The Kemonomimi slaves protested living conditions in Newport resulting in the Corn Street Massacre. The mid 1800s had numerous Kemonomimi uprisings all across the colony, protesting the slavery, terrible living conditions and the lack of representation. The protests was planned to happen same time as harvest season on the plantations. The response from BTC to the uprisings was to request that Zreiru’a send additional forces to “guard” the plantations and “motivate” the workers.” the request being granted

The First Kemonomimi Revolution - First Kemonomimi revolution was kicked off in the late 1800s, when a still unknown Kemonomimi threw a box of lit dynamite into a marching troop formation. The word of the attack spread through out the plantations triggering uprisings with the Kemonomimi labors taking there tools against their masters. The alleged leaders of the revolution were dragged out into the streets of Newport and hanged from the street lamps.

1900s, the Great War and Second Kemonomimi Revolution

The Red Year - In the 1900, the market for corn and timber completely collapsed. Borea Trading Company board of directors held a vote 9-0 to declare bankruptcy and liquidation it's assets. During the economic collapse food silos in the cities were barren meanwhile the plantations was unworked and bug ridden. The Kemonomimi that was previously enslaved at the plantations was all forced to leave, the roaming bands of straving Kemonomimi directly lead to the Second Kemonomimi Revolution.

Second Kemonomimi Revolution - The roaming bands of newly freed Kemonomimi slaves quickly gather around two charismatic leaders Geocratiskza and Pauliniskzin. In 1901 the bands occupied the cities and part of the capital, that in absent of a recognized government by the people that they have declared their own government. Zreiru'a in response sent several divisions to restore it's control of the colony. The revolution lasted until the 1920s' where the Zreir'a state was collapsed and Naylorbrookisza a ex-Zreiru'a military officer and a turncoat for the revolution had the other leaders of the revolution executed in his final betrayal.

1915 to 1919 - Great War and collapse of Zreiru'a state.

Military Dictatorship and Second Civil War 1920s-1965

In the 1900s Nystatiszna is formally declared under a military dictatorship by colonel Naylorbrookisza, the two time betrayer of the revolution. In her first year she created the Nystatiszna Intelligence Bureau and the advisory council made up by her closest friends to governor the different districts of Nystatiszna.

1930 to 1936 - Crack down on democratic protests leads to civil uprising in the streets. The military maintains control after using chemical weapons.

1944 - Colonel Naylorbrookisza passes away from poisoning. Leaving the military junta in charge of the government.

1950 - Increasing pressure on the government from protesters leads to minor land reforms.

1951 - Reforms are repelled and dissenters arrested. Mustard gas being used extensively.

1960 - the junta declares Asta Arachine as queen and absolute leader of Nystatiszna. The collective backlash uniting the peoples regardless of political alignment to protest against the new regime. Triggering the second civil war.

Creation of the Republic and the Nyasterisuzu trials 1965 - 2021

1965 to 1975 - Second civil war ends with the Imperial Party gaining control of the government and created the current form of apartheid government. Kemonomimi are formally recognized as second class citizens with legal protections. Humans and Ursine are considered to be above Kemonomimi but below elven.

Good Monday Cease Fire

1975 to 2000s - The quiet period, disbanding of the military and Nyasterisuzu trials. Nyasterisuzu trials put the previous members' government and the various terrorist groups that were active during the Civil War on trial.

2000 - The final trial is over and aired on the radio.

2020 - The Imperial Party formally states its goal is legislation into being a constitutional Monarchy.

2021 - Monarchy election starts and the tsunami floods Newport and Tømmer is flatten off of the map.

After the 2021 Monarchy Election for Nystatiszna peacefully transferred restructured the government into a democratic parliament legislative branch with a figurehead empress with select powers.

Political Structure

Government Structure of 2022

The political structure of the Akuan State of Nystatiszna is mainly structured on a the Ceasefire Agreement of 1965 and the renew Ceasefire Agreement and Constitution Renewal of 2022. The ceasefire acts not only as a guide for the government structure, political mannerisms, political traditions and the structure of politics as a whole. The Constitution structures the government and giving power to the separate branches of power.

Government

The politics of Nystatiszna is divided by three branches of government. The Legislative branch which produces the laws, the Judicial branch is evaluates the laws and the Executive branch which carries out the laws.

The Legislative Branch

The legislative branch acts as both legislative and as a hiring pool for governmental positions. The Senate is the bicameral legislature of the republic government of the Nystatiszna and consists of the Upper Senate and the Lower Senate.

The composition and powers of the Upper Senate are established by the 12th article of the Nystatiszna Constitution and the Good Monday cease fire agreement. The Upper Senate is composed of Senior Senators, who serve life time appointments. There are currently 300 senators in the Upper Senate, elected on a national level by pre-approved lists of selectees. To get on the list of approval to run for Upper Senate, they are required to fill out several dozens of forms, pay 50,000 Russ and go in for an interview with the Nystatiszna Intelligence Beau Newport. As a pool for governmental positions they are reserved for high level positions of trust such as governors, department heads, advisers, chief justices and President's chief of staff.

The composition and powers of the Lower Senate are established by the 13th article of the Nystatiszna Constitution and the Good Monday cease fire agreement. The Lower Senate is composed of Junior Senators, who serve 4 year appointments. There are currently 600 senators in the Lower Senate, elected on a providence level by pre-approved lists of selectees. To get on the list of approval to run for Lower Senate, one only has to pay 1,000 Russ. As a pool for governmental positions they are reserved for lower level positions of trust such as postal general, tax officers, judges, mayors and rural development managers.

The Judicial Branch

Entwine with the legislative branch with the judges being filled with Junior Senators and the chief judges. Chief Judges attend over a select area or township. Chief Judges serve for life.

The Executive branch

The Executive branch is headed by the Prime Minister who could theoretically serve a unlimited amount of terms and each term lasting 20 years. Executive branch carries out the laws, maintains the police forces, appoints military generals and is head of the military.

The Royal Crown

Royal Crown acts as the heart and soul of the country, entrusted of keeping everyone interest at heart when approving laws, managing the public tax and labor agency (including the profits of), Imperial Military, Postal and Banking Service. The current holder of the Empress Title is Ingrid of Norgsveldet who is be seen as the chosen monarch after her victory in the 2021 Monarchy Election.

Political Groups

Imperial Party

Imperial Party is a Ultra-Authoritarian Zrei party focused around maintaining power over the country. Using education requirements, gerrymandering, poll taxes, violence and creating all manner of conditions to prevent Kemonomimi to vote or hold office. In addition to promoting a segregated society with elves on top. The Imperial Party maintains control of nearly all the administration/leadership positions, including governors, mayors and important city council seats.

Civilize Party

The Civilize Party is an Conservative-Urban party made up mostly of Tielfings, Humans and Ursine. Often working with the Imperial Party to keep the status quo. They focus on business interests, lowering taxes and social conservative values. It’s also noted that they do maintain some liberal values and actively counter overt religious laws/policies. Wishes to create a tax on alcohol and combat the country's rapid alcoholism problem.

Kurintail Democratic Party

The KDP is a Democratic Monarcho-Socialist party, made up of a mix of the races but primary the Kemonomimi majority of the country, exists to counter the Imperial party's segregation policies. Promoting extensive social welfare policies, industrialization, economic reform, political reform, civil rights reform and government restructuring. Openly calling for the end of the apartheid system.

Cultists' for Religious Policy

The Cultists' For Religious Policy a mess of social welfare, traditional village family structure, pro-drug policies, rural policies and Akuanist social values. The highly motivated voter base, able to mobilize a sway of numbers to hold rallies, protest groups and push their political will much better than even the larger parties.

Military

Nystatiszna spends 7% of it's GDP on military expenses. The Nystatiszna Imperial Military is the military organization in charge of Nystatiszna's military, with a joint command with the Nystatiszna Commissar Core (N.C.C) and Nystatiszna Intelligence Bureau. The branches of the military are the Army Defense Forces, Navy, Air Command, Missile Defense Command, Counter-Special Weapons Department, Counterterrorism and Intelligence. With the latter branch of Counterterrorism and Intelligence under joint control with the Bureau.

Nystatiszna Commissar Core

The N.C.C are in charge of Imperial Party political propaganda, indoctrinating the public with monarchist ideology and maintains a firm grip on the military to assure civilian control of the military. Prior to becoming a commissar an individual had to be registered as a Imperial Party member for a minimum of one years or had a previous veteran Commissar vouch for you and had to attend the Greengin Military Academy, which offers a blend of political and military course. Political officers are usually directly tasked with morale, regulation-based goals and promoting Imperial Party doctrine.

Economy

Nystatiszna is primary a agricultural nation producing canned fish products, corn flour and lumber.

Nystatiszna's economy suffered heavily due to sanctions combined the widespread loss of life from famines, local governments failure to maintain infrastructure and neglect of important cash crops. This caused a large drop in GDP and destroyed the country's ability to attract private and external investment. Major trading partners include Kæra'zna, Rikevaarland, South Hills, and more recently Packilvania. Nystatiszna is a country of multitude of natural resources but lack the ability to gather said resources. The economy is based mostly on subsistence agriculture and wild fish harvests by the local population using simple tools. Farming techniques are basic, with large plots of land assign to state ran farms. After 1970 Farmer-Act all small farms was sized and redistributed to Zrei elves with political connections. Resulting in the creation of a large-land owning aristocratic families and keeping the farmers tied to the land.

Subsistence crops grown in the country include maize, which occupy more than fifth of the country's activity being used farmland. Canned fish products and lumber are the major Nystatinne exports. Over reliance on lumber and fish product exports makes Nystatiszna very vulnerable to shifts in their prices.

The industrial sector in Nystatiszna is small. Products manufactured primary focuses on agricultural products (such as canned tuna or fish oils), small-scale beverages, furniture, and lumber. Nystatiszna's mining industry is a undeveloped industry, with only cobalt and lithium currently being extracted in small amounts. However recent geological surveys have found volumes of zinc, graphite, lead, copper and titanium have been discovered in center Nystatiszna, a notoriously difficulty and remote place to access. Infrastructure

The Nystatiszna government prioritized funding of infrastructure mainly focusing on road and rail construction. The country's water infrastructure is nearly nonexistent in rural part of the country, with only the main cities being able to afford running water. In the rural parts and in villages, hand pumps and managed springs are used.

Villages in the rural areas are often only connect by dirt walk paths only wide enough for a donkey cart. These rural villages rarely have any clean source of water. Having to use shallow wells that often are highly contaminated with all matter of bacteria. As a result these villages often have to depend local Akuanist temples for barrels of light ale to drink. Food sources in these villages are also scarce as farming has been forbid by the land-owners of the villages. Land-owners require villages to pay in rent or work hours, as most Nystatinne earn less than 1 USD a week meaning most rent in labor. Land-owners are often in the Nystatiszna Senate and pushed through the farming ban bill without issue. The land-owners believed that if the villagers started to farm then the villagers won't be able to fulfill their labor quotes for rent. As a result of the law, villagers often have to have children go out and gather foods by fishing or by gathering foodstuff with their elders who are too old to work watching over them.

Administrative divisions

Nystatiszna has been governed by a strict hierarchy since colonial times. During it's colonization the corporate board of the Borea Trading Company, exercised control through a system of provinces, districts, cities, and neighborhoods. The current administration divides regions by only districts, villages cities, and providences. No laws are made at the local level and everything has to be approved by the heavily centralized legislature.
