The Red Krone (symbol: ¥; code: RKR) is the official currency of the Red Crown Economic Union and currently used by all its member states of the RCEU. The collection of nations using the Red Krone known as the InterUnion zone or more officially as the "Red Krone Zone of Use and Acceptance." The currency is used by the institutions of the RCEU, and outside of it the currency is used by a large number of organizations around the Urth. The Red Krone has been pegged by any number of nations on Urth, the largest and most drastic example being Republic of Bana. According to some estimates 179 million people either use the Red Krone directly or used a currency that is pegged to the Red Krone. As a reserve currency, it has been used by nations taking part in Together Lapérouse!, and various other nations such as Pledonia and Nakosa.

History

Kaskada Conference

The Kaskada Conference was meeting held in Uravin, Auravas in the 1984 to discuss creation of a monetary union between Federation, Auravas and Zemeprievadai. Conference existing before the creation of the Red Crown Economic Union, the historically close nature of the three nations as well the heavy trade relations and investment from Federation led to a reserve of Red Krone within the two nations. The Red Krone has been historically strong and stable currency compared to the other two nations, leading to further faith in creating a monetary union between the three nations. The conference led to the foundation and future mechanisms used by the RCEU and the Central Bank of the RCEU, InterUnion.

Korćetta, notably condemned the conference. Stating it was method of Federation imperialism, confusing many of the attends to the conference.

Nickname and Slang

Red Krone was nicknamed "Benders" by original users of the currency the Federation of the Southern Coast, primary due to the early history (1920-1927) of the currency's coins "bending" in your pocket due to the metal alloy used at the time to produce the coins. Nowadays, the coins are made with a strong metal alloy to prevent bending however the nickname of "Benders" or "Bendies" has historically stuck.
