The 2009 Kyrloth General Election was held in Kyrloth on Monday 19 October 2009, to elect 144 members to the House of Debate. Slow progress on national and regional issues from the incumbent Council government, an energetic campaign by the Board, and the multiple delays to the Summer Budget Order of 2009 led to a narrowly-lost confidence vote (71-73) due to two Council rebels (who were subsequently de-listed), and ultimately to a majority Board government.
