The Grand Shrine of Lilith in Newport, Nystatiszna is the largest and oldest permanent Akuan shrine as well the oldest permanent settlement on Borea. It was the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world, and still one of the largest libraries in the modern world. The Grand Shrine itself is often more referred to as a research and media storage institution rather than the library itself. The Grand Shrine is dedicated the Lilith, the mother of all stories and art. Lilith's children often playing a part in upkeep and expansion.

It acted as the most significant place for the collection of storytelling in its various forms, including clay tablets, scrolls, primitive artwork, pottery, books, portraits and various other forms storytelling. The Grand Shrine of Lilith is dedicated to the mother of all stories Lilith. Historically the grand shrine has acted as a university, though it was only during the Historiefortelling era (500 BE - 700 BE). The Grand Shrine of Lilith, acts as the one of the world's oldest legal deposits for books. It has been seen as the highest religious duty and honor for all Akuanists to contribute, maintain or otherwise work in the Grand Shrine of Lilith.

The Grand Shrine of Lilith with all assorted buildings, walls and gardens measured to be same as a large city. Each building is dedicated to a form of storytelling and history, examples being the library dedicated to film reels from the late 1880s to 1930s before cellulose nitrate stopped being used in film reels. The Shrine employees over 15,000 artists, scholars and maintenance staff to recreate or repair the various materials, information and other various storytelling methods. This includes artists to copy old artworks that have degrad, bookbinders to fix books and talented forgers to copy the books or scrolls who pages are at risk of degradation. Buildings have been dedicated to things such as clay tablets the shrine has secured over the years, which have been painstakingly recreated by importing clay from other parts of Borea.

The Grand Shrine of itself is made up of five walls before entering the shrine's grounds, only traveling on foot is allowed within the shrine walls and grounds. The most outer and recently made wall was built in 1978 by Nystatiszna Intelligence Bureau with at the time modern security methods and environmental hazard concerns. Fourth wall being a open plain field with nothing but cut grass, to symbolize the empty void without stories to fill it. Third wall acts the primary entry to the shrine, it is forbid to wear anything than blue-green robes past this point, symbolizing the color of nature and contains a field of flowers, show life with stories apart of it. Second wall, is made up buildings dedicate for housing of the staff, warehouses for materials and other assorted structures needed. The final and first wall is the entrance to the Grand Shrine of Lilith proper, which is the largest part of the Grand Shrine of Lilith and contains all the libraries within it walls. In addition to the libraries, it holds the Shrine of Lilith proper in the center point of the Grand Shrine. The Shrine of Lilith proper is the only structure within the Grand Shrine that is regularly replaced every 5 years as per Akuan rebirth customs.

Storytelling and Definition

The art of storytelling and its definition was widely changed over the course of time. With Akuanists not only adapting new methods of storytelling such as modern films or video games but kept true to the old forms such as vocal storytelling, writing, artwork and the various other methods. As such, Akuanists have kept up each method or form of storytelling in their natural state or form and maintaining it throughout the thousands of years. Treating every form of storytelling as equal to one and another, as well as every story is to be treasured and has a place in the works of storytellers.

The Akuan Commitment

The Akuan Commitment, refers to the commitment of Akuanists to contribute to the Grand Shrine of Lilith. Contributing all forms of storytelling and material aid to the Grand Shrine of Lilith, in order to maintain, expand or repair the Grand Shrine. Often, this comes in the form of contributing to the Association of the Servants of Akua in donations. The relationship between the ASA and Nystatiszna government has usually strained but functional most part. While the commitment is not universally shared to carry the same weight, however all Akuanists do have respect for the Grand Shrine.

The Lilith Exception

Grand Shrine of Lilith is a notable exception to several traditional rules, customs and traditions of construction. Most notably being the only single building is part of the rebirth/renewal tradition is the Shrine dedicated to Lilith herself, it being a mud hut that doesn't hold any foci or objects instead only being for vocal storytelling and dances, which is another exception to the rule.

The Five

The Five, or the five countries are only nations or families allowed to send people to the Grand Shrine of Lilith to study or investigate it's historical archives.
