The Nystatiszna Intelligence Bureau is a sui generis Nystatinne organization, operating in several roles for Nystatiszna, not only acting as a intelligence agency and law enforcement but as a fourth column of the government directly. For more of the history of the organization, it acted independently from any number of governments of the country until 2020 when it formally came under the authority of the Enshrined's Office. During it's century of a independent organization, it serviced as a stabilizing force of Nystatiszna and maintaining Nystatiszna independence from foreign interference. During numerous periods of Nystatiszna, NIB acted and operated small but effective military force in order to maintain the country's borders and stability. While usually the NIB works alongside the governments of Nystatiszna, there has been few known cases where NIB disagreed with the government. The most recent example being in 2018 when the former dominant political system established by the Imperial Party was broken by the NIB, and enforcement of democratization laws that allowed Ayo Hoshi to run for election.
Outside of the domestic front, the NIB heavily involved across Borea and particularly within East Borea either through covert operations or commercial activities. Which help lead to causes of xenophobia on the continent towards Nystatinnes as potential saboteurs or assassins from the NIB. It also fostered reputation and mythology of the Bureau as a whole, with NIB through the aspect of Viktor von Dotseth as a 'spirit of vengeance and justice' across all forms of Borean Akuanism. Despite the nature of Nystatiszna as a nation, the NIB maintains a surprising level of success throughout it's long history as a organization, with retired intelligence experts citing the 'uniquely creative and determinative nature' of the NIB. Such reputation seeped into mainstream pop-culture within media across the world, as a archetypes of 'intelligent villain' examples being the "Officer Tor" Norgsveltian movie series or "My mom is a super secret agent?!?!?!?" anime film series from Vakrestrender.
The NIB formally owned several companies and shares of firms but transferred ownership of key commercial assets to the Imperial People’s Fund in 2020. Previously NIB was whole hearty self-funded and self-sustainable organization. Having ties to various companies within and without Borea such as to UliVik, through several methods such as owning shares of the firm, providing security service, establishing partnerships and formerly establishing firm, licenses, and trade agreements. The former methods such as licensing and trade agreements being handed over to the president office in 2018, which was passed down into the respect governmental functions in 2019. The NIB still maintains limited amount of self-funding operations but only externally and non-business related entities. Primary through protection and security services for various companies or high profile figures visiting Borea, though such services are only confirmed to happen within the East and in Neo-Fantøm.
Mythology
The Bureau has attend near mythological status in pop-culture, and religious mythology within Borean Akuanism for separate but similar reasons. In media both within and without of Borea, they are the archetype for villain characters, particularly within Norgsveltian and Valkyr media. Having their own character tropes with in literature and visual media. For religious mythology surrounding around the agency, the concept being enshrined within all forms of Borean Akuanism, usually but not always through aspect of a deeply mythological view of Dotseth. Being viewed as a 'spirit of vengeance and justice' for Akuanists. The former concept being uniquely only found within Borean Akuanism, being seen as a positive where Akuanism outside of Borea treats vengeance as a deeply cruel and evil of religious aspect. Nystapi Shrine Authority, the second largest Shrine Federation in Borea made attempts in the late 1990s to remove the mythology of NIB however efforts led to lackluster results as the deification Dotseth still holds. It should be clarified, the mythological and deification view of Dotseth is primary the concept of him rather than him as a person.

The Bureau has been the subject of many controversies, including species rights violations, cyberattacks, propaganda, drug trafficking and industrial espionage.
Nagato placed strict sanctions on the Bureau in response to the 2009 Ransomware attack which crippled the healthcare industry. The ransomware attack was linked back to Nystatiszna, after Nagato cybersecurity experts was able to partly de-encrypt the ransomware and was able to claw information together which pointed at the computer that created the ransomware files had Nys'tat'en fonts installed. Linguistic analysis of the ransomware note clearly pointed at a non-Nagatoian and the structure of the sentences similar to Borean languages. In the 8th of February the government came to the conclusion to pay the cyber ransom on the infected devices, to which the computers infected with the ransomware bricked with in 84 hours after payment.
