Giroruña is a city municipality of Antora, the capitol and largest city of the district of Tomaras, as well as the ducal seat of the duchy of the same name. With a population of 2,256,349, it is the second-largest city in Antora by population. It lies on the northwestern coast, at the deepest point of the Bahía de Ostras (Corric: Bay of Oysters,) which feeds into the northern Concordian Ocean. Bordered on two sides by the Gavilán Mountains, the city was founded in the 6th century as one of the first post-Impelantic polities in Novaris. The urban core is built around the historic ruins of Tomaras Castle, itself built out of the original Impelantic fortifications.

Giroruña's history of continuous habitation begins around 10,000 BCE with archeological indications of non-human habitation, though traces are scarce due to time and building atop settled sites. Scholars agree that the first historical settlement of note was Gerón Oa, founded by migrants fleeing upheaval in Impelanza. Initially a small settlement, it grew rapidly from its founding in 503 CE due to the abundance of tin and nickel ore as well as abundant oyster fields. In the 9th century, the town became the center of governance for the Kingdom of Grejóna. Initially Tunseist, the practice of Votivism became more prevalent after the Arranzic Conquests of 1149, which saw Grejóna absorbed into Caza de Caziyho, which later became the Kingdom of Casilló. It was during this period the city became known as Giroruña. In the 17th century, Giroruña was a center of spirituality and scholarship, hosting many Votive conclaves and producing the only Living Saint of the Antoran Righteous Church, Archbishop Hernandéz II. The city experienced an economic downturn at the turn of the 20th century owing to changing methods of manufacturing and fishing, though it has experienced a rebound in the latter and replaced the former with technology services.

Currently, Giroruña is the second-most powerful economy in Antora by municipality, boasting a massive tourism sector which benefits from the same architecture styles, culture, climate, and entertainment as Porta Tranquíla while being removed from the politics and functions of the Royal Family. It also maintains the largest fishing fleet in Antora and a sizeable shipping and passenger port. Its main scholastic draws are the Seven Bay Universities which each cater to a different area of study, and the Votive Historical Archives, the largest collection of Antoran religious information in the world. The technology sector of the nation depends on Giroruña as a hub city, with each major tech corporation in Novaris having at least a satellite office within the metro area. It hosts the headquarters of HerCan Armas and the Tomaras International Trust. The city is connected to the national high-speed rail and is serviced by Ducal Tomaras International Airport.
