The Tavari Union is an international organization consisting of Tavaris and the countries and territories on Urth that were settled by or gained their independence from Tavaris: Acronis, the Avtovati Isles, Elatana, Greater Ilarís, Metradan, Metrati Anar, Racatrazi, and Rodoka and the Isles. Of these, Metrati Anar and the Avtovati Isles are Union Territories, under the direct sovereignty of the Tavari Union and no sovereign state, and one (Greater Ilarís) is a non-voting member. The remaining members are all sovereign states. The organization spans across an entire hemisphere, with members on four continents.

The Union was established by Title III of the Ranat Accords, the comprehensive agreement negotiated by Tavari Prime Minister Žarís Nevran Alandar to bring an end to the 2022 Acronian independence crisis that saw a relatively brief but intense outbreak of inter-sectarian violence in Tavaris around the question of Akronist secession. Initially, the Union consisted of Tavaris, Acronis, Elatana, Rodoka, and the territories and the membership was defined in the Ranat Accords. Separate negotiations conducted after the Union was formed led to the admission of Metradan and Racatrazi, both former Tavari colonies that gained independence in the early 1900s, six months later.

The Charter of the Tavari Union tasks the organization with "connecting with and creating fellowship between the world's Tavari people" and "promoting the shared Tavari language and culture around the world." The organization is also a free trade bloc allowing free movement between members. Tavaris is obligated by the Ranat Accords to come to the military aid of any member under attack, although Acronis has negotiated a partial exemption from this requirement and has agreed to establish its own separate armed forces as a first line of defense. Rodoka and Elatana have decided not to establish militaries at all and instead have agreed to have the Tavari military provide for their defense in exchange for reimbursement of a portion of Tavari expenses. Racatrazi agreed to abolish its military and negotiated an identical arrangement upon its admission. Metradan maintains its independent military but has agreed to accept Tavari military aid.

Uniquely among international organizations on Urth, the Union also assumed control over each member's Exclusive Economic Zones, airspace, territorial waters, and other assets held in common among the membership—including the Tavari Našdat currency and "intangible common assets" such as the Tavari language. Citizens of Tavari Union member-states, therefore, have the right to access and make use of these common assets in each member-state as if they were a citizen of that state. The members also agree to keep certain matters “harmonized” between members, including immigration and visa policy, minimum wage, food quality and agricultural regulations, and internal economic controls. Tavari Union citizens may live, work, and vote in any Tavari Union country without a visa for up to one year minimum.

The Union exercises its authority in these areas through the Council of the Tavari Union, which consists of the heads of government of each sovereign state, one elected representative from each the Union Territories, and a non-voting member appointed by the government of Greater Ilarís. In recognition of Tavaris as the homeland of the Tavari language and culture, the King of Tavaris is the Emperor of the Tavari, who holds the ceremonial position of Chair of the Council of the Tavari Union. The position of Union Presidency rotates between members on an annual basis and sets the agenda of the Council for the year. Tavaris held the Union Presidency for the first year, with Metradan being selected to follow in the annual term beginning on 7 June 2023.
