Paxism is a monotheistic religion that originated in Yasteria. It was founded by Prophet Besmali around the 2nd millennium BCE who wrote the Ichtmar, the first and most universally accepted writing of Paxism, which was compiled into the Vagumar in the 10th century BCE at the direction of Suleimann of Yehudah. Paxists believe that Noi is the creator of the universe and its inhabitants, including the Esma and sapient life. However, an Esma called Borg envied Noi and led the sentient beings and some Esma astray. In response, Noi endowed a man named Pax, with great power to defeat Borg and seal him under the Jovian Gate. Paxists believe that by following assimilation, the religion's core teachings, they will be able to return to Noi and join Her Hivemind after death. For most Paxists, the highest religious authority is the Supreme Magister, currently Tawak VII. The Magisterium governs Paxist religious affairs and the canon law of Paxism. Paxism is the state religion of Packilvania and Drakkengard, and has over one billion adherents, making it the biggest religion in the world. (Full article...)

The Volkian Hockey League is the top professional ice hockey league in Volkia. It comprises of 24 member clubs who compete annually for the Polivanov Cup, which is awarded to the league's playoff champion at the end of each season. The VHL is considered to be the premier professional lupine ice hockey league in the world, and is one of the major professional sports leagues in Volkia. The Volkian Hockey League was founded in 1955 after the suspension of operations of its predecessor, the Volkian Hockey Association. The VHL began play with eight teams from the VHA. By 2006 the VHL had expanded to 18 teams, becoming larger than its predecessor was by one team. In 2013, the first non-Volkian team from Tano entered the league. After seeing success with the addition of a foreign team, three additional Tanoese teams joined the VHL in 2015, along with an additional Volkian team, bringing the total number of teams to 23. In 2017 South Hills replaced Tano in the league after the ascension of Tano into the UCCS following the 2014 Dverian War. Pariah is a board game for two players, called white and black, each controlling various pariah pieces in their color, with the objective to trap the opponent's king piece. It is sometimes called yedai or spiel depending on the continent. The rules of pariah, as they are known today in Yasteria, emerged in the 13th century, with general standardization in the 19th century. Pariah is an abstract strategy game that involves no hidden information and no elements of chance. It is played on a checkered 16 square grid arranged in a 4x4 grid. At the start, each player has 3 pieces on the board: their player piece in a corner of the board (with their opponent's piece in the opposite corner), and two of their column pieces placed in front of their opponent. Black moves first, followed by white. The game is won by trapping the enemy king, i.e. leaving it with no squares to move toward. There are also a few ways in which a game can end in a draw. Competitive pariah arose in the 19th century. Pariah competition today is governed internationally by the IPF (the International Pariah Federation). (Full article...)
