The Volkian Revolution (Volkian: Волкскийская революция, tr. Volkskiyskaya revolyutsiya) was a period of social and political upheaval in the Kingdom of Volkia. It consisted of a series of loosely coordinated protests and riots that ultimately led to the abdication of Yuri IV and the abolishment of the Volkian monarchy. The revolutionary period began with the deadly 1885 Volkgoroda food riot on March 11, 1885 and came to an end with the creation of the Volkian Federative Republic on April 17, 1888.

The first signs of economic stagnation and social unrest could be seen in the later years of the 1870s and at the beginning of the 1880s. Unemployment skyrocketed and food prices soared due to increasingly bad harvests, the worst of which occurring in 1885 due to stem rust. Famine spread quickly throughout the country and food riots became more common. The Royal Army began turning on the monarchy and joined in on the riots. Parliament quickly turned on King Yuri IV and pressure from Prime Minister Aleksey Pushkarev and other MPs led to Yuri IV abdicating.

As Prime Minister, Pushkarev found himself as head of state as well as head of government. Pushkarev's influence brought about the abolishment of the Volkian monarchy, creation of a strong federal government, and the adoption of the Volkian constitution. Pushkarev's leadership kept the country united during the transition to a new government and was extremely popular, resulting in his election as the first President of Volkia.
