Capital punishment is a legal sentence in all twenty-six provinces as well as the federal civilian and military legal systems of Volkia. The applications of the punishment are limited by the Volkian Constitution to aggravated murders by mentally competent adults, terrorism, treason, espionage, genocide, and some sexually motivated offenses.
Capital punishment was a form of punishment for violent felonies in the Volkian Kingdom, and it was enforced in all Volkian legal systems. The methods of execution and the crimes subject to the death penalty vary by province and have changed over time. The most common methods since 1983 have been lethal injection, firing squad, and hanging.
In 2020, 19 inmates were executed by the provinces and federal government, and 273 inmates were on death row.
