Allegiance also formally known as Allegiance Aviation is a for profit publicly traded company that originates in South Hills. Its headquarters are presently located in the city of Buena Vista. It manufactures aircraft, flight testing simulation machinery and other services such as software upgrades, testing and maintenance etc. It was founded in 1870 to develop aircraft for use by the Armed Forces of South Hills. It has exported its technology to over 100 countries and its combat aircraft have seen action in multiple international conflicts. It is one of the largest companies on the Preston & Cole CSX 500 list

History

First Years

Allegiance was founded in 1870 by the government of South Hills as the Concordian Aeronautical Corporation after the Department of Defence Research and Development Agency provided a proof of concept for aerial fixed-wing vehicles following experimentation and research led by Olivia and Edmund Burkes, two engineers and scientists from the Buena Vista University of Technology. Allegiance began importing internal combustion engines used for land-based automobiles from Royal Redrugus, a automobile manufacturer from Great Morstaybishlia. Although the engine initially proved relatively weak for long distance flights, their tests yielded promising results in 1875 when they completed the maiden flight of a two seat rotor propelled two-wing aircraft.

Great War

Further collaboration with Royal Redrugus led to developments in avionics and aviation that gave rise to aircraft that could be used in both combat and civilian applications. At the outbreak of the Great War, South Hills declared neutrality and refused to entreaties by Ian Crowcasa to join on the side of the Imperial Coalition against the Pacific Coalition led by Asendavia and Peregrinia. Ian Crowcasa threatened to ban Royal Redrugus from selling engines to Allegiance if South Hills did not comply. These engines were pivotal in the process of developing the planes. To prevent from breaking its official neutrality, South Hills agreed to sell the planes to a third-party country which would resell them to Great Morstaybishlia for use by the Royal Armed Forces of the Empire.

The Morstaybishlian Empire and Packilvania then under the Demirite dynasty used the aircraft in the spectacular bombing of the Southeast Yasterian States. The bombing of Astlyon, Lazlowia, Peregrinia and other Southeast Yasterian States using Concordian aeronautical technology greatly aggrieved Olivia Burkes who was an ardent pacifist. Despite her husband, Edmund, attempt to convince her to stay at Allegiance as the Chief Engineer, she resigned her post and continued teaching at the Buena Vista University of Technology. With Edmund Burkes continuing his involvement in the company, she filed for divorce.

The Pacific Coalition threatened South Hills of if continued sending weapons to the Imperial Coalition, so South Hills secretly sold aircraft to Asendavia and the Southeast Yasterian States. After their victory over the Imperial Coalition, during the Southeast Yasterian War, the newly formed Free Pax States charged Allegiance with crimes against sapientkind. The company began to expand its scope to civilian aircraft for commercial use. The planes were incredibly popular as various newly formed airlines used them for short haul trips.

Mid-20th century

The Period of Calamities significantly dampened the growth trajectory of Allegiance. Following the end of the recession the company continued developing its aircraft. The government of South Hills banned exports to Packilvania a decade after the Packilvanian Communist Party dethroned Zerah Demir IV and the Demirite dynasty. This was largely due to its fears of Gideon Muktan and the rest of the Communist Party fomenting the Communist ideology of Nikobar Luden in South Hills, their diametrically conflicting views on issues of geostrategic importance and their abuses against the human population. The fact that Great Morstaybishlia's alliance with Packilvania had collapsed provided South Hills with diplomatic headroom to effect the ban thereby causing Packilvanian aeronautics to stall for decades.

Late 20th century-Early 21st century

The company established Thompson Aerospace, its subsidiary, to take over its military aircraft program. In the 1980s, the company was involved in the Advanced Interceptor Program via its subsidiary Thompson Aerospace whereby the Thompson F-21 Bobcat was developed for use by the Armed Forces of South Hills. At the time, it was arguably the most advanced fighter jet in the world.

The government began privatising the company in this time and it had its IPO on the Concordian Stock Exchange in 1991. After the end of the Second Packilvanian Civil War, the Bedonite dynasty and the government of South Hills agreed to gradually resume exports of aviation technology to Packilvania largely but not exclusively for civilian or non-combat military purposes. This relationship was reciprocated with Allegiance importing steel from the Packilvanian Steel and Construction Corporation. Allegiance aerospace technology has seen used by a variety of militaries such as the Packilvanian Armed Forces, and the Oan Defence Forces. It has been used in conflicts such as the Dverian War, Kohatu War, Auroran Cerenerian War and Tasselvalta War.
