Presidential elections were held in [[Volkia]] on June 19, 2016. The 33rd [[Volkian presidential election|presidential elections]], voters chose a new president as the incumbent, [[Zakhar Kreskov]], was term limited. Because no candidate received a majority of votes in the first round, a run-off between the top two candidates, [[Yuliya Surkova]] and First Lastov, was held on July 3. Yuliya Surkova won the election in the second round with __% of the vote, the first woman in Volkian history to win a presidential election. She was inaugurated on August, 6, 2016.

The '''2016 Volkian presidential election''' was the 33rd {{wp|quadrennial}} [[Volkian presidential election|presidential election]], held on Monday, July 4, 2016. The [[Social Democratic Union|Social Democratic]] ticket of Federal Councilor [[Yuliya Surkova]] and [[Governor (Volkia)|Governor]] of [[Yekartovsk Oblast]] [[Vladimir Burmakin]] defeated five other tickets. Surkova took office as the 20th [[President of Volkia|president]], and Burmakin as the 19th [[Vice President of Volkia|vice president]], on August 6, 2016.
