The Mkænian War is an ongoing war between Kaldrbuth and East Atlalandr, starting on the 2nd November 2023 after armored divisions from Kaldrbuth invaded the East Atlalandian region of Mkæniszna. With the Kaldrbuthian air force bombing vital logistics and infrastructure targets within the region. With the Kaldrbuthian Queen Astrid XI announcing in a speech the same day that her country will be seeking the independence of the largely Akuan region. Being the first conventional war on Concord since the Violet Restoration War.
Prior to the invasion the East Atlalandian government of Sanna Vakrela was overthrown by an Einarist military coup on the 1st November 2023 in opposition to the referendum held by the government for the independence of Mkæniszna. Which has led to what has been called the East Atlalandr Crisis, as the Einarist government had to deal with Pro-Vakrela protests and riots across the country. With the referendum being a matter of heavy controversy within the country.
Through the help of Mkænian separatist militias of the Ny’Akide Brigade and the MSLF, the Kaldrbuthian Army was able to capture the majority of Mkæniszna within two weeks of conflict. With the MSLF claiming responsibility for previous attacks against East Atlalandian troops prior to the war, and with the collapse of many vital tunnel systems in Mkæniszna.
Background
The Mkænian region (referred to in Nys'tat'en as Mkæniszna) has been split up between Atlalandr (pre-Violet Restoration War), Kaldrbuth and Tilmeria for centuries since the Sauvageon Wars. To various degrees of autonomy, with Kaldrbuth and Tilmeria giving the most free-hand towards the Mkænian people driven by Hjørdist religious laws of lessor people conquest. Atlalandr historically, being the worse out of the two until Tilmeria Einarist revolution resulted in extreme oppression towards the Mkænian people. The Violet Restoration War and the Einarist revolution resulted in targeting of Mkænian people, with the belief that the Akuan population are supporters of capitalism, Kaldrbuth and the Kingdom of Atlalandr. Meanwhile Kingdom of Atlalandr accused all of the Mkænian people of being supporters of socialism and pro-Kaldrbuth and supporters of the socialist republic of East Atlalandr. Throughout the Concordian Cold War, Mkænian people was frequently targeted by both sides, save Kaldrbuth still following the Hjørdist doctrine towards the Akuan culture. The resulting oppressing, targeted discrimination towards Mkænians created a small refugees crisis heading towards Kaldrbuth, Norgsveldet and the Federation. With Kaldrbuth taking in the bulk of the refugees in the mid-70s, and then working with the Norgsveltian government in order to resettle them. In the 80s during Federation and Kaldrbuth rapprochement, the Côtois government offered to assist in developing the Mkænian autonomous region in Kaldrbuth as well established a series of programs to assist with the refugees. The Association of the Servants of Akua frequently rank Mkænian shrines in Tilmeria and either Atlalandr as C to D level, citing semi-frequent risk towards the shrines.
Before the war started, there was two large scale attacks in Kaldrbuth cited alongside the coup and denied referendum. The Ishindale Bombings and the series of stolen military equipment. While most of the equipment of the military hardware was recovered, much of the small arms and low-yield explosives was not. The Ishindale Bombings in particular striking a powerful cord within the Kaldrbuth Queen and Kaldrbuthians. Even more-so when the East Altalandian general who sponsored the attack was released from custody and assisted with the coup.
The Tårnet Presidency
East Atlalandr held a presidential election on the 1st October 2023, which led to the National Bloc (NB) candidate of Erik Tårnet winning with 51.89% of the vote after having a low turnout of only 54.9%. With Tårnet beating the Socialist Republican Party (SRP) candidate of Daniel Drakst. With the NB being a political alliance between the Atlalandian Einarist Party (AEP) and the Atlalandian National Republicans (ANR), formed as a result of the two parties shared Einarist ideals and their harsh anti-separatism. With both vocal opposition to the government’s planned independence referendum for Mkæniszna.
Though the East Atlalandian president is a largely ceremonial position as a result of Gørn Gerjikdal’s political reforms in the 90s. The election of Erik Tårnet is seen as a major change of the political climate in the country. As a result of Tårnet’s controversial beliefs and his active opposition to the government. With him vocaly opposing much of Sanna Vakrela’s policies and urging the people to oppose “pro-separatist” politicians and people. Which have resulted in spikes of Anti-Akuanism in the country as a series of “anti-separatist” riots and protests was instigated against individuals accused of supporting Mkænian Separatism. Mainly concentrated around the capital city of Veridal. Causing several Akuanist Organisations claiming that anti-separatist rhetoric within East Atlalandr being used to target the country's Akuan minority.
East Atlalandr Crisis
On the 1st November 2023, a day prior to the Kaldrbuthian invasion of East Atlandian Mkæniszna, an Einarist led military coup was started against the government of Sanna Vakrela. With the coup being led by general Dasker Marertitar and the leader of the AEP, Elisa Våld. With the coupers capturing Mrs. Vakrela and most members of her cabinet. Though some ministers were able to escape imprisonment. The coup had been done while supporters of Erik Tårnet did large scale protests and riots right outside the country’s parliament. With the coupers giving the president special emergency powers without a vote being held in the country’s parliament. In which Elisa Våld was placed as the country’s new prime minister, but renamed to prime director. Despite the swiftness of the coup, large scale protests across the entire country almost immediately followed after demanding the release of Vakrela.
Despite the coupers cancelation of the Mkænian referendum attempts to forcefully stop it was delayed as focus was placed on ending the open civic disobedience against the new government. In which the Einarist government would get in the form of Tilmeria who sent army divisions to help the country reestablish control. Though during the forceful crackdown on protests the Kaldrbuthian Army would use the chaos as an opportunity to intervene into Mkæniszna.
Mkænian Liberation Alliance
Officially The Ny'Akide brigade and the Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front are in a alliance together, while being supported by Kaldrbuthian military. However for the most part, the alliance is in name only outside of a handful of joint battles in the opening days of the war and Kaldrbuthian military only opening supporting the Ny'Akide Brigade. On the political side, the Mkænian independence party denounces the MSLF as Anti-Akuanists and anti-Mkænian, a shared position with the Kaldrbuth government. In return, the MSLF denounces the Mkænian independence party as ineffective and too weak to stand up against the red fascist state of East Atlalandr and their corporate masters of Tilmeria and South Hills. The alliance is primary held together by a shared-power agreement for after the war, believed to be agreed on sometime before the conflict. Other wise, the two members actively avoid each other in operations when possible but still share information with each other. Ny'Akide brigade is considered to be stronger than MSLF, having far larger military personals, equipment and more support both diplomatically and politically. Though it is believed MSLF to have superior training and having advanced equipment, though evidence for this is circumstantial and primary based on reports from East Atlalandr as well as some limited reports from Kaldrbuth. MSLF maintains a extremely tight lip policy, with their current numbers more of a estimation by military analysts rather than proven.
Mkænian Independence Party
Mkænian Independence Party is the political-side of the MLA, rather than being a armed faction within the alliance they are purely political and broke away from East Atlalandian parliament during the political crisis in the country. The MIP is a big tent Akuan Democratic party, and has board support from both Mkænian and the non-Mkænian population residing within the Mkænian region. As according to the power sharing agreement between the Ny'Akide Brigade and the MSLF, the MIP will temporary run administration of the liberated parts of Mkæniszna. Running the emergency services, public utilities and public transportation when possible. The MIP shares the objective of a independent Mkæniszna but only the East Atlalandian and Kaldrbuthian parts of the region. Officially the MIP states that elections will begin when it is considered to be safe to-do so.
Ny'Akide Brigade
The Ny'Akide Brigade is the larger of the two in the Mkænian Liberation Alliance, and is the one with most clear information on. The Brigade was founded by Ny'Sænuri clans, secular Mkænian and heavily supported by Kaldrbuth. The brigade has been spotted using modern equipment, such as DT-32s tanks and Type 15 IFVs, supplied by Kaldrbuthian military. The Ny'Akide Brigade also has the political support and backing by the Mkænian Independence Party, despite their use of violence being against Akuanism as well against the Akuan Democratic platform the party has. The leader of the brigade, Ny'Isnzki has been quiet compared to the MSLF leader Ny'Mkæn, with only a handful of statements being released to the wider public. Ny'Isnzki first recorded appearance being the announcement of declaring Mkæniszna independence, during the first day of the war being broadcasted in Mkæniszna region in East Atlalandr. The second recorded appearance being a clarification that the new Mkænian state would only be made up of the Mkænian regions of East Atlalandr and Kaldrbuth. Kaldrbuth having given its own region of Mkæniszna to the newform state on the day of the war.
The Brigade was well known by East Atlalandr officials, and was a semi-frequent hot point of discussion between themselves and Kaldrbuth. Though the brigade never committed to any operations within East Atlalandr, with the only record use of the Brigade being during the Ishindale Bombings to assist with Kaldrbuthian military in restoring order. The East Atlalandian government believed that the brigade would be used as tool of Kaldrbuth for terrorism within its borders. Though evidence of the Ny'Akide brigade involvement in terrorism within East Atlalandian borders has been lackluster at best, with no investigation into terrorism within the country having been proven. Nevertheless, before the outbreak of the war, East Atlalandr has several times accused the brigade of operating within the country despite the evidence showing otherwise. The only actually certified time the Brigade entered into East Atlalandr is during the conflict. Politically, the Ny'Akide Brigade has stated that it's only goal is the independence of Mkæniszna and only lands within East Atlalandr and Kaldrbuth. It supports the Mkænian Independence Party as the provisional government of Mkæniszna, though it has given concessions to the MSLF in a power-sharing agreement.
As opposed to MSLF, the Ny'Akide brigade doesn't make use of unground networks and fights in a more conventional fashion alongside the Kaldrbuthian military. Acting as a vanguard force within Mkænian region, being supported by Kaldrbuthian army and air force.
Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front
The Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front is a Akuan Socialist armed organization operating within Mkæniszna. The leader colonel Ny'Mkæn and the group itself is heavily inspired by Naylorbrookisza, as evidenced by Ny'Mkæn clear efforts to model herself after the late Borean dictator in mannerism, fashion and showmanship. It's originates are currently unclear and being investigated by various intelligence agencies on Concord. East Atlalandr president Tårnet stated publicly that Kaldrbuth and Norgsveldet created the MSLF as a terrorist organization to bring down East Atlalandr. In particular pointing towards the NCIS as the true masterminds behind the organization, citing the level of training and the equipment they appeared to be using. Though these claims lack any substantive evidence, and the equipment the MSLF have been seen using matches the details of the stolen weapons originally stolen by the Kaldrbuthian Republican Front. It's believed that MSLF did travel through the Mkænian mountains through the Kaldrbuth side, but due to the rural nature and the sheer size of the mountain range it has been reasoned that Kaldrbuth could be unaware of MSLF operating in the country. NCIS and Kaldrbuthian intelligence agency are currently investigating possible traces of MSLF in the country.
Beyond the mountain crossing, it's believe that MSLF has made heavy use of tunnels and cave systems within the mountain ranges. In addition having a series of underground tunnel networks outright within major cities within the Mkænian region, which the East Atlalandr government has accused NCIS for secretly supplying advance tools though no evidence of MSLF having such tools or the ability to use such equipment.
Before the war fully started, MSLF conducted a massive operation on the night of East Atlalandr's president Gørn Gerjikdal death. The operation started one hour after his death and ended two hours before sunrise. The operation focused on the destruction of various checkpoints and outposts along the border. Five outposts was completely destroyed by homemade suicide drones, with eight others being attacked with improvised drones and sniper fire. 45 East Atlalandr soldiers was found dead, with numerous other injured. While use of IED road-traps and sniper fire was frequently used during the attack. The use of 'traditional weaponry' such as bows and swords was noted for its heavy use during the operation. Several autopsies of the soldiers found the soldiers was surprised, showing no signs of defense wounds. MSLF originally didn't claim the attack, and the East Atlalandr government accused of Kaldrbuth. Kaldrbuth government denied any involvement in the attack, and tighten security around the border incase of the spillover. When the war fully started, the MSLF leader Ny'Mkæn claimed the attack during her announcement of MSLF efforts to liberate all of Mkæniszna starting with East Atlalandr.
The Mkænian War
The Mkænian war officially started in 2th of November 2023, however MSLF began operations on the 15th of September and believed MSLF has been in Mkæniszna possibly for longer. Kaldrbuthian military has been building up along the border since the Ishindale Bombings in 1st of May earlier that same year. The Ny'Akide Brigade mobilizing alongside the Kaldrbuthian forces, East Atlalandr criticized the move to mobilize the border but in a attempt to decrease the temperature along the border. Decided to keep the status quo with East Atlalandian military forces along the border, despite heavy complains from senior ranking officials, both militarily and politically. Kaldrbuth stated the build up of armed forces was to prevent further attacks by the Kaldrbuthian Republican Front coming from East Atlalandr side of the border. Tilmeria military officials released a joint statement alongside several East Atalandian generals, accusing the Kaldrbuthian Queen of preparing to invade East Atlalandr. East Atalandian PM Vakrela dismissed the East Atalandian generals who signed on with the statement, tensions need to be lowered not raised.
Before the East Atlalandr Crisis and the Einarism-Military coup of the East Atlalandr. Tensions began to lessen along the border and Kaldrbuthian troops began to de-mobilize from the border, Ny'Akide Brigade however stayed mobilized. While the buildup never reached to pre-Ishindale Bombings levels, it was slowly approaching that level over the course of months. The East Atlalandr coup, and the release of KRF general Darit Hevner, the woman who supplied equipment for the terrorist attacks. Saw the return of mobilization along the border, increased numbers post-Ishindale Bombings on both sides. The thief of Kaldrbuthian equipment only served to heightened border security and largely increase Kaldrbuthian military present along the border. Meanwhile East Atlalandr military struggled to reinforce their side of the border due various operations conducted by MSLF, civil unrest and issues with mobilizing its conscript-based army.
Pre-Invasion Operations & Prelude to Intervention
Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front began a series of operations within East Atlalandr owned Mkæniszna, starting one hour after the death of the popular East Atlalandian President Gørn Gerjikdal before he was officially announced dead to the public. The largest one being the Night of Helfire, as coined by the general population. Other than the garrison attacks, MSLF attacked various night patrols, until it East Atlalandian military started only having patrols during the day-time to which they began to attack them then as well. In addition equipment from the military and police was frequently stolen, in any number of means. The MSLF conducted assassinations of individuals of both civilians and military figures. The attacks increased pressure on the East Atlalandian government, all of which was unclear who was responsible until the day of the invasion when MSLF claimed responsibility. The East Atlalandr Crisis, resulting from the Einarism-Military coup and the buildup of troops along border are included within this section.
Night of Helfire
On the 15th of September, 10:15 P.M. local time and lasting until roughly 5:00 A.M. two hours before sunrise in Autonomous Republic of Mkæniszna. The Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front targeted several garrison outposts, road checkpoints, patrols and a logistical base. Resulting in 45 confirmed dead, and 67 severely injured East Atlalandian soldiers. Out of the eleven outposts attacked, five outposts was rendered completely inoperable and eight other outposts are considered to be heavily damaged but still functional by the East Atlalandian military. The main killer of these attacks being homemade suicide drones and improvised explosive devices, often in most explosives using nails or marbles as shrapnel. For outposts and the base itself, military grade explosives was used rather than the IEDs. Road strips and small rockslides was proved to be used to stop mechanized patrols, though the road strips only stopped non-armored vehicles such as technicals and covered trucks. Rockslides that blocked the roads delayed reinforcements from arriving to the outposts, and in other cases was attacked themselves through the use of drones or sniper fire. Number of autopsies found that several bodies of soldiers died from blades and arrows, being completely unaware as evidence by the lack of defense wounds. The MSLF would rotate between hit-and-run attacks and full on assaults. Sometimes sticking to attacking a outpost, for half-a-hour and then retreating only then restart the offense against the outpost later after a hour. Other cases, the outpost would be attacked by drones and sniper fire, suffering damage to various buildings only then to suddenly stop for the rest of night. It is unclear what was the specific target in the outpost, as the East Atlalandian government has been tight-lipped about the attack.
The logistic base itself, was deep within Mkæniszna proper and occurred at 1:33 A.M. and lasted a total of two hours, the longest sustained direct attack during the operation. The logistic base was small, and due to the on-going attack was understaffed as soldiers was called to reinforce the outposts at the borders. The base was raided and destroyed, being the main contributor of the death count of the night. Small arms and explosives was stolen from the base, while other equipment such as vehicles was rendered inoperable or destroyed. The structures of the base itself was burned down, the fires starting from the outside of the buildings and after investigation by the East Atlalandian government it is believed no one besides military personals entered into the complexes.
East Atlalandian military scrambled a response during the attacks, sending out aircraft to respond to the attacks around the border but due to the mountainous terrain and having a old generation of aircraft from the Concordian Cold War had difficulties operating within tight-knit pathways and valleys of the region. Helicopters became essential in the response but was completely overwhelm by the number of attacks, and was forced to break off individually responding to situations. The helicopters has forced to ignore attack on patrols and checkpoints, having to focus on protecting the outposts. However when a helicopter arrived, the outpost would stopped being attacked and another outpost would start getting attacked. Forcing the East Atlalandian military to their helicopters consistently be on the move. Displaying a high level of coordination from the then-unknown attackers. As the night lingered on, helicopters had to be refueled which resulted in further intensity in the night. 1:33 A.M. being when all but two helicopters was needing to be refueled correlating with attack on the logistical base. East Atlalandian army itself had issues relating to the rock slides, hit-and-run ambushes and booby traps all along the roads. Even more-so, the reinforcements was ordered to drive pass destroyed army vehicles and stranded, injured or distressed people as it was reported at 11:00 P.M. that the unknown hostiles was using wrecks as booby traps.
Citizens along the borders, primary made up of small rural farming towns and the township of Stålverdiby was asked to head to the nearest bomb shelter if possible or head indoors and hide in their bathroom. The police of Stålverdiby was called into service to assist the military garrison holding the town, helping with setting up checkpoints and assisting civilians back to their homes. Later on throughout the night, at midnight local time the police was asked to bring in any suspicious Vi'Kinlge groups in for questioning by the military. Later-on after the attack, the police across the autonomous republic was ordered by the East Atlalandian government to bring in any possible suspicious individuals in altogether. Conducting several non-knock raids on homes of Brewmasters, business owners and various other community leaders. Handful of them being released, the rest however was kept imprisoned at Moaterian. Only being released when the MLA took over the city and released the captives.
The attacks suddenly stopped at 5 A.M. and then-unknown attackers disappeared into the wilderness. The government issued order of martial law over the whole of Autonomous Republic, asking citizens of the East Atlalandian Mkæniszna to limit their travel and stay at home except incases of emergencies or being essential personnel. The East Atlalandr blamed Kaldrbuth for the attack, to which Kaldrbuth denied any involvement. The East Atlalandian military garrison increased in size in respond to the attack, and the previous general of garrison of the border was fired and replaced by General Sara Haugstad. It wasn't until later on day of the invasion where the Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front leader, Colonel Ny'Mkæn took credit for the attack. East Alalandian deployed additional three battalions to the region to assist and reinforce the Mkænian garrison.
Missing Patrols
After the Night of Helfire, police and military night patrols went missing. The missing patrols, for the most part completely disappeared with no signs of missing personnel bodies and only their vehicles being seen. On top of the soldiers missing, equipment of stolen from the patrols, not only including firearms but small handheld electronics such as radios, cellphones and took parts from the dash boards. The missing night patrols resulted in the East Atlalandian government to stop having patrols at night, and only during the daytime. The result being only police patrols, in cities going missing during the day.
Patrols went missing both in the rural areas and in the urban towns. Usually police patrols disappearing from the cities and towns while military patrols went missing in the wilderness. Police cars being found completely empty in parking lots or alleyways with engine hood and doors open. In every case, the police cars had no signs of a fight meanwhile the military patrol vehicles usually had traces of fighting. Usually with windows being cracked or smashed in. Regardless of police and military vehicles, the interior was cleaned with chemical compounds. The East Atlalandian highest level of policing service, Socialist-Republican Intelligence Bureau took over from the Mkænian State Police service to investigate the missing patrols on top of Helfire investigation.
The government of East Atlalandr reported 15 soldiers, and 42 police officers went missing between the 16th of September to 1st of November.
Stolen Equipment
East Atlalandrian military reported that Mkæniszna autonomous republic was hot-spot of stolen military and police equipment. Not only including missing patrols and the raid on the logistic base during the night of Helfire. After the 15th of September, on the 16th the new general in command of the garrison Haugstad order a mass inventorying of the autonomous republic. It was found military armories away from the border, and more around middle of the autonomous republic was found to be missing batches of equipment. Such as firearms, ammo, handheld explosives, anti-armor weaponry and so forth. The massive of lost equipment resulted in massive political blowback within the East Atlalandian military, with base commanders across the autonomous region being investigated or outright dismissed. Several quartermasters of bases was charged and investigated for treason.
The investigation provided additional questions for the East Atlalandian government, as the reports from the armory was incompetently written, unfinished or otherwise failed to follow protocol. The ministry of justice ordered the autonomous region's policing service to investigate its own armory stores. Discovering a far more drastic situation as the armories in major cities of the autonomous region was nearly completely emptied outright. Further investigation shown that the armories haven't been checked on for months, and in the most severe case such as in Moaterian in two years. Displaying the heavily relaxed nature of policing and military services within the autonomous region.
While it is unknown how the police armories was robbed. It is believed that military equipment was stolen from the back of military convoys, and its been proven in some cases. Military truckers would stop at rest stops or restaurants, against military protocols and orders where additional equipment was stolen from their trucks. The reason why the thief was never reported was the lax nature of the police and military within the region, as well general incompetence of the officer core within the autonomous region.
Assassinations Conducted by MSLF
There was eleven high-profile assassinations where the body was discovered targeting various public officials and military pilots. Though it is suspected by the East Atlalandian government that there is at least sixteen additional assassinations where the bodies was not discovered, estimated 27 individuals in total. The East Atlalandrian government attempted to suppress news of the assassinations, though word would breakout regardless. The assassinations followed different patterns and methods, sometimes the bodies was placed in a deliberate fashion where they would be discovered other times the police discovered the bodies accidentally. The assassinations with confirmed bodies was later claimed by the Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front and gave stated reasons for each assassinated target but left it up in the air with the other sixteen missing people.

East Atlalandr Crisis and Kaldrbuthian Military Buildup
The East Atlalandr Crisis, or the East Atlalandr Einarism-Military coup saw the arrest East Atlalandian Prime Minister Sanna Vakrela and several members of her cabinet. The coup led to massive civil unrest within the country, as well universal condemnations and sanctions by international community. The coup heavily disrupted the on-going shake ups and attempt reforms conducted by General Haugstad in autonomous region. The issues only increased as General Haugstad was arrested, and replaced by National Bloc party loyalist, General Grete Hundedrag. The reforms and shake-ups to the military stationed in Mkæniszna was placed on hold, as General Hundedrag wanted to focus on immediate readiness for invasion. Furthermore, Gen. Hundedrag sent back the light mechanized infantry reinforcements Gen. Haugstad ordered, instead replacing the soldiers with tank units and replaced the helicopters stationed there with jets for rapid response. Gen. Hundedrag giving her reason that a possible invasion would be more traditional, and Gen. Haugstad was over-correcting in dealing with a possible insurgency. Reasoning that if a invasion did come, then they should use the strategy laid out during the Concordian Cold War rather than focusing on new atypical warfare, that had to be developed on the fly when Kaldrbuthian threat would be in a more direct and traditional fashion. Despite Gen. Hundedrag focus on readiness, the consistent shift in leadership, with new orders/directives and sudden stop of on-going changes led to massive confusion with the Mkæniszna East Atlalandr garrison and military forces. Gen. Hundedrag sudden shifts in position and strategy only furthered resulted in the poor performance of the East Atlalandian military in the opening days of the conflict.
Kaldrbuthian military was building up on the border since Ishindale Bombings, slow decreasing but soon rapidly to Ishindale levels after the announcement of Erik Tårnet winning the presidency in 1st of October. Gen. Elixarist Matilda placed a heavy focus on Ny'Akide as the vanguard force, while initially the Kaldrbuthian military would provide complete air supremacy through HK-45s and artillery. Ny'Akide is being outfitted with advanced equipment and vehicles. It is believed that on some degree the MSLF supplied intelligence to the Kaldrbuthian military, however Gen. Matilda denied the claims stating MSLF has no absolutely no involvement with the likes of MSLF and only cooperates with the MIP and Ny'Akide Brigade. The Ny'Akide Brigade leader, Ny'Isnzki admitted to some degree that they have cooperated with Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front in the early stages of the conflict and in select operations.
Kaldrbuthian Intervention
The Kaldrbuthian queen, Astrid XI in response to the Ishindale Bombings, equipment robbery and the East Atlalandr Einarism-Military coup. The queen ordered a military intervention into the East Atlalandrian Mkæniszna with a speech. The intervention completely overwhelmed East Atlalandrian military still suffering issues of administrative confusion, leadership change and additional issues stimming from being improperly prepared. The operation code named, Mkænian Liberation went into effect at the end of the speech which saw MSLF attacking border bases and outposts from the mountains while Ny'Akide backed with Kaldrbuthian air power overran the bases. The East Atlalandian Air Force was extremely devastated, nearly 60% of military aircraft was destroyed within first day of the intervention and static defensives such as bunkers, anti-air, ect was completely ineffectual against the superior technology used by Kaldrbuthian military.
The rapid collapse of East Atlalandian defensive land results in a panicked retreat to fall back lines. The retreat was unorganized, leaving equipment and soldiers. The East Atlalandian soldiers left behind during the panic, would takeover administrative buildings, homes, and infrastructure. Taking civilians has sapient shields, as well as looting of homes. The East Atlalandian soldiers left behind in addition to the looting, would torture and/or murder civilians. Moreover, Gen. Hundedrag ordered during the retreat to 'leave nothing behind' which resulted in the retreating East Atlalandian force to raze the region as they left. The order caused wide-spread mutinies, officer fragging and surrendering of units. The largest mutiny case was Colonel Bjarte Olesen, who rejected the order given by the general as unlawful and unbecoming of the military.
To add to the logistic problems East Atlalandrian military had, fifteen out of the eighteen routes through the East Atlalandrian Mkæniszna was blocked or collapsed. The three routes into the country, two was small roads unable to have heavy vehicles pass through and the single road that could have heavy vehicles pass through was the Gørn Gerjikdal's Memorial Tunnel. The tunnel was the primary road in and out for East Atlalandr, having four-lane roads and a railway. The tunnel did suffer damage from the sabotage resulting in the train tracks needing to be repaired. The other routes, the fifteen routes was mixture of tunnels and roadways. The Roadways suffered from rockslides from the mountains and attempts to remove the rumble, would suffer from ambush attacks by the MSLF far away from the front.
Queen Astrid XI's Speech
The Kaldrbuthian Queen, Astrid XI held a speech moments before the intervention into the region. The queen's speech was held at the Kaldrbuthian capital Hrafnheimr, and was met with applause from the crowd.
The PM of Kaldrbuth, Sara Ysverdatur in addition to the queen's speech, clarified that the military intervention into East Atlalandr would only include East Atlalandian Mkæniszna and not other regions of East Atlalandr. The other border regions will only act in defense, and will not advance into other parts of East Atlalandian. Furthermore she added in her party is steadfast in the defense of the Mkænian people, and is the same mind of the queen. Other parties within Kaldrbuthian parliament, quickly joined in agreement later with only a handful of dissenting opinions. Majority of polls conducted in Kaldrbuth, showed less Kaldrbuthians care about Mkænian people and more on the aspect of seeking 'blood for blood' a Ulvriktru concept against the Kaldrbuthian Republican Front and the military of East Atlalandr.
Operation: Mkænian Liberation
The Kaldrbuthian intervention in East Atlalandr was officially named 'Operation: Mkænian Liberation' was a combined effort between the Kaldrbuthian military and the Mkænian Liberation Alliance, though the Kaldrbuthian military was unaware of the Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front involvement with the MLA. The Ny'Akide Brigade is believed to shared intelligence of the operation in advance with the MSLF, in order to cooperate together during the first days of the attack. After the initial assault, and the rapid push through the East Atlalandian defensive lines. It is believed Ny'Akide Brigade and Mkænian Socialist Liberation Front stopped actively working together, outside of providing military intelligence with each other. Never cooperating in battles later, but did indirectly assist with each other. Such as MSLF attacks on the entry points into Mkæniszna from East Atlalandr, harassment of logistic bases and so forth while Ny'Akide request Kaldrbuthian forces to not target the MSLF and bomb targets provided by MSLF. Though the Kaldrbuthian air force is reluctant to assist the MSLF and has outright rejected assisting MSLF in targeted strikes several times in the opening days of the conflict, reserving the option to evaluate targets first.
The operation started on 2th of November at 10:00 A.M. right after the section of the Queen's speech. The Ny'Akide vanguard back with Kaldrbuthian support and reinforcements overwhelmed the defensives of East Atlalandr. The MSLF assisted with the intervention by providing attacking the bases along the border from the mountains. MSLF used the stolen equipment from East Atlalandr and improvised suicide drones to target the bases. Mortars, rocket propelled grenades and anti-armor equipment was heavily used, resulting in the East Atlalandian armored garrisons being heavily reduced in strength. Static defenses, like anti-armor and anti-personnel turrets was unable to maintain its role due to the intense fire from the mountains. Resulting in the Ny'Akide Brigade to overun the initial defensive lines of the border and push inside of Mkæniszna proper, capturing the the border town of Stålverdiby by 10:50 A.M. less than a hour since the attack first began. Kaldrbuthian troops occupied the border bases, and various small villages dotted along the border as well mopped up retreating (or left behind) East Atlalandian forces encircled while Ny'Akide pushed further reaching the outskirts of the capital of the autonomous republic Ny'Mkænby by 3:15 P.M.
East Atlalandian military was aware of the likelihood of Kaldrbuthian intervention, however due to the leadership of the garrison being replaced several times, sudden shift in orders and series of systemic failures in discipline, corruption and lackadaisical approach to basic military protocol. Resulted in being completely overwhelmed by the intervention, which in addition to the lost of their static defensives, left behind important East Atlalandian military equipment and intelligence. Most importantly SPAAGs and artillery pieces that was stationed further away from the border, was captured by the MSLF and the Kaldrbuthian-Ny'Akide forces, which later was turned against East Atlalandr. General Hundedrag knew of the possibly of the threat, but was still in the process of moving to Mkæniszna via train and majority of the command staff was still located at West Atlalandr front. The East Atlalandian general was giving orders via the train, heavily relying on their smartphone and laptop. The laptop later ended up breaking, needing repairs and forced the General Hundedrag to only be able to use their phone to give out orders during their transit to Mkæniszna region. Resulting in confusing and misinformation being rapid, resulting in the infamous 'leave nothing behind' order given.
The military operation pushed through series mountain passes along the border, and the 'Eternal Concordian Friendship Valley' (Later renamed to the Flørian Valley by the MIP). It was believed valley would have been the most well defended, and the valley itself was established with a series of bases as well as fortifications. However on the day of the operation, the valley was the first one to be completely overwhelmed. East Atlalandian soldiers garrison at the valley was in rotation, Gen. Hundedrag wanting to replace previous garrison forces with newer brigades from the capital. Further adding to the logistical differences of East Atlalandian military. Mountain passes bases themselves was rapidly over taken.
Collapse of East Atlalandian Air Force and Defensive Lines
East Atlalandian military garrisons failed to hold the established defense lines, for numerous reasons but another key aspect was the inexperience of the East Atlalanidan garrison forces. The garrison division was made up of conscripts, primarily from rural regions drawing from East-Altalandian Mkæniszna, non-Mkænian population and surrounding areas around Mkæniszna. Conscripts stationed in Mkæniszna, was renowned for their lack procedures even before investigation by Gen. Haugstad. The unprofessional culture of the East Atlalandian garrison fed into the poor performance of the East Atlalandian defense. Defensives lines themselves, such as bunkers or artillery placements was long over due on maintenance, which the process only started the day before the operation. As a result, when the East Atlalandian garrisons tried to use their defensive batteries in most cases, they failed to operate to full capacity or not at all.
East Atlalandian air force during the operation scrambled to counter the invasion. The focus being on assisting the retreating East Atlalandians with air cover rather than attempt to directly challenge Kaldrbuthian supremacy in the air. Kaldrbuthian HK45 and advanced technological aircraft, absolutely utterly devastated the East Atlalandian air force with 60% of East Atlalandian aircraft was destroyed within the first few days of the operation. The first day a full third of East Atlalandian air force aircraft was destroyed, almost all of which of done by the HK45s. Kaldrbuthian HK45s was flown non-stop, with pilots being rotated during each mission to avoid fatigue and the Norgsveltian mili-blogger, journalist observing HK45s being rearmament claimed it was more of a Series One pit-crew like speed rather than a normal jet rearmament. East Atlalandrian air force on the 10th of November stated that they will be no-longer perform operations within Mkæniszna.

Norgsveldet
The Norgsveltian prime minister Wilhelm Kirkeland stated his vocal support to Kaldrbuth during a press conference during first day of the conflict. With the Norgsveltian government having defended the Kaldrbuth’s actions internationally, and given the country military intelligence. Sanctions was placed on East Atlalandr by Norgsveldet in tandem with other NCEF states as a result of the coup, with Kirkeland having strongly condemned the coupers and demanded the reinstatement of the previous elected government. Majority of the sanctions being seen as largely symbolic with the organization having already strict sanctions on East Atlalandr as a result of its involvement in the Ishindale Bombings, and being seen as being a part of West Atlalandr.
During a vote held in the Norgsveltian parliament on the 6th November 2023, the parliament voted in large majority to condemn the East Atlalandian coup and statement of political support to Kaldrbuth. With over 545 out of 600 parliamentarians voting in favor of continued support to Kaldrbuth.
Eyjaria
Prime Minister Kjolf Bardsen reassured his opposition to the coup in East Atlalandr and demanded a full reinstatement of Sanna Vakrela as prime minister there. With Bardsen stating in a press conference that: “The Commonwealth of Eyjaria strongly condemns the coupers within East Atlalandr, and we will work tirelessly with our allies to oppose the degradation of democratic values in East Atlalandr.”
When asked about the Kaldrbuthian invasion of East Atlalandr’s Mkænian region, Bardsen simply reasserted that his government will request a cessation of hostilities and urged both sides to work out the conflict through diplomacy. Bardsen has repeatedly refused to condemn Kaldrbuth’s invasion when asked. Eyjaria alongside the rest of NCEF have placed sanctions on East Atlalandr.
West Atlalandr
When asked for a comment on the conflict the West Atlalandian prime minister, Nikkolas Bjarnvikdal, simply reiterated his government’s opposition to the East Atlalandian coup and proclaimed that his focus will be on the reunification of Atlalandr. With the West Atlalandian army increasing its military presence alongside the border with East Atlalandr. Despite the government’s otherwise quiet tendencies there was heavy criticism levied among West Atlalandr’s conservative organizations against Kaldrbuth. With members of the right wing Pan-Ulvrikian nationalist party, the Ulvrikian People’s Party (UPP), accusing the Kaldrbuthian queen of being against Ulvrikian and Atlalandian unity by supporting Akuan “terrorists”.
In an parliamentary vote held in the nation’s Landting on the 5th November 2023, the huge majority of the parliament voted in favor to reassert the country’s claim to its eastern lands (including parts of Western Tilmeria). Including a resolution to request the Kaldrbuthian government to give administrative duties of Mkæniszna to West Atlalandr once the entirety is occupied. A request which was rejected by Kaldrbuth.
Tavaris
Tavari Prime Minister Žarís Nevran Alandar condemned the coup in East Atlalandr on 1 November, stating "The Tavari government strongly opposes this undemocratic and illegitimate violent seizure of power," calling for the government of Sanna Vakrela to be reinstated and and also stating that "the democratic process of self-determination through a referendum should be allowed to proceed in Mkæniszna."
The following day, following news that the invasion had begun, the Tavari government issued a written statement calling upon "all involved" to "immediately cease hostilities." However, the Tavari government has not issued any formal public statements in regard to the war since 2 November 2023. Speaking to other members of the Tavari National Diet in a question session, Mrs. Nevran Alandar noted in December 2023 that "we are working with our diplomatic contacts, primarily in Norgsveldet, to encourage all sides involved to find a diplomatic, peaceful solution to the conflict." When pressed to elaborate on the Tavari position on the conflict, she demurred, saying only "Tavaris stands for peace."
The Tavari Ministry of Treasury has issued a set of targeted sanctions on a handful of individuals within the post-coup government in East Atlalandr. Legislation for broader sanctions against East Atlalandr has so far failed to advance in the Diet. Additionally, a non-binding resolution of political support for Kaldrbuth similar to the one passed by Norgsveldet failed in the Diet after several members of Mrs. Nevran Alandar's governing political party Irínavi Voi! voted in opposition.

Following previous condemnation of the coup, the Vistari government waited to make any conclusive statements on the war until deliberation on the matter could be conducted within the legislature. Prime Minister Allard Baas, when asked his opinion on the issue, expressed that while he could sympathize with opposition to the "insurgent regime" in East Atlalandr, the precedent set by the matter should be of "grave concern" to the international community.
After Norgsveldet made clear its stance on the conflict, an open vote was agreed to be held within the Chamber of Representatives to determine the body's position on a similar expression of support. This vote failed by 545 votes to 361, with members from both Government and Opposition criticizing Kaldbruth's actions and the intentions of those who support them as having disregarded international law despite the arguments made by Deputy Speaker Heidi Mulder, which argued that the subversion of a referendum in a region by a reprehensible government necessitated the course of action taken. Emboldened by this, the Formal Opposition would put forward a motion by Socialist Cause legislators to instead condemn the actions of Kaldbruth and demand international arbitration, however this vote also failed the following day by [TBD] votes to [TBD].
In light of the results of these two votes, the Imperial Commission on International Relations quickly put forward a statement on November 5 aimed at reflecting the expressed viewpoints of the Chamber of Representatives. The statement attempted to acknowledge continued opposition to the government of East Atlalandr, which was only reaffirmed following the coup, whilst expressing disapproval towards actions taken by Kaldrbuth that violate Atlalandr's external sovereignty.
The statement, approved by both Chambers of the Imperial Parliamentary Council was summarized by Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Duke Adelbert van Edalavia as follows:

Though Lord-Minister Hessel Gelder, Vistari Ambassador to the NCEF, reaffirmed the government's adherence to New Weverist principles opposed to commercial sanctions without viable economic cause, Vistaraland voted in favour of targeted sanctions towards those behind the coup, as well as further symbolic restrictions on armaments trading with East Atlalandr. Lord Gelder also agreed to having the forum urge member governments to implement their own additional sanctions, so long as it was not mandated through the NCEF framework.
