The International Red Union (IRU) is an international alliance of centre-left to far left political parties. Headquartered in République C.D, Federation of the Southern Coast and founded in 1997 after the Royal Workers' Party moved to leave the International Socialist Solidarity Organization after having dispute over allowing non-socialist but anti-imperialist and pro de-colonization parties into the ISSO. The argument furthering as the Royal Workers' Party came into issue with the ISSO over the party being Monarcho-Socialist and blatantly disrespected as such. The current chairperson of the IRU is Esmé Fay, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federation.
The IRU allows non-left wing political parties to be included into the organization if they're are expressly anti-imperialist, decolonization and/or Akuan Democracy. The IRU aims to a establish contacts and discuss different views on public policy and related matters. The stated goal of the IRU is the promotion of "Left-Wing policies, democracy and promotion of unions and "Creation of Umbrella alliance of left-wing political parties and promotion of left-wing unity, without the pressures of doctrine dogmatism." IRU was founded as a umbrella alliance for left-wing political parties, a majority of the members within the IRU are social democrat rather being democratic socialist like it originally it was at it is founding.
Member Parties
The IRU was founded in République C.D, Federation of the Southern Coast on 15th of January of 1997, to be admitted as a member, a party must qualify as a "Democratic, left-wing party and be pro-union." Though the IRU later expanded to anti-imperialistic parties, regardless of political alignment.
