She then attended Volkgoroda Federal University for her Master and Doctorate in Education. In 1983, she joined Petrovskoye University as a professor and began teaching education courses. She met Zakhar Kreskov, then a constitutional law attorney and professor, around this time. Kuznetsova married Kreskov in 1987 and they have two children together.
