Succession to the Morstaybishlian Throne
Succession to the Morstaybishlian throne is determined by descent, legitimacy, and religion. Under common law, the Crown is inherited by a sovereign's children or by a childless sovereign's nearest collateral line. The most recent time this has happened is when the throne was passed to the younger brother of Edrudus IV, Lambertus VI, when he died.
There have been 48 monarchs on the Morstaybishlian Throne. Before the unification of the Staynish and Caltharusian thrones in 1515, these rulers were considered Staynish. It is generally hard to decipher who was the predecessor kingdom of Staynes between Staynnica and Sztahynz, so it is considered Staynish pre-history and excluded from the timeline. At no point in history since the first Staynish ruler, Pip, has the line of rulers been broken. This means that there has never been a time in history when the throne has been absent of rule.
