Springtime for Naylorbrookiszna is a Nystatinne sung-through musical with music and lyrics; created by a unknown screenwriter in the 1980s and music created by the Nystatinne state band. Based on real life events of the Naylorbrookiszna Coup, covering the life of Naylorbrookiszna and Viktor von Dotseth, couping the government of Nystatiszna after the Second Kemonomimi Revolution, and then later own dealing with the death of Naylorbrookiszna. The cast is always done by a all Kemonomimi crew, dressed up as other species whenever deemed necessary using clothing and makeup. It has been describe by international reviewers as 'one of the most offensive, disgusting and crude pieces of media that has ever been produced' and 'one of the most interesting pieces of parody ever been produced.'

Formerly only ever produced and shown in Nystatiszna, the international opening of the musical received near-universal confusion and mixed responses. It premiered Shano Tuvria Memorial International Theater, République C.D, in the Federation in 24th June 2023. Where it sold out several times during its tour in the Federation, with audience members stating they 'had a morbid curiosity' about the production. The musical has became a feature in post-ironic memes within the Federation, with the most common feature of the memes showing scenes from the musical with 'moi quand' (Staynish: me when) and pointing out the sheer absurdity of musical all together. Reviews of the musical stated that it was 'unapologetically speciest and pro-Borean ethnorevanchism' while other reviewers in Red Dove Media suggest that Springtime for Naylorbrookisza is one of the finest performs of parody and satire created.

Background

Springtime for Naylorbrookiszna was originally only shown in Nystatiszna sometime in the 1980s and has monthly performances of the musical in Newport. It was ordered to be created by the Nystatinne government after the senate believed that a production of a musical would be more effective in educating the population of the country in history than providing more funds to the education department. After the production, the musical was played over the radio at least once a week before the musical was performed in the country's capital. During which the original screenwriter of the musical disappeared in mysterious circumstances, and their name was removed from all credits of the musical. According to the limited records at the time, the radio performance was an overwhelming success in terms of educating residents of the country of various historical events in the country.

Synopsis

Springtime for Naylorbrookiszna is primary done in three acts, 'The Coup' as act one, 'Perfectly Sane' as act two and act three 'Death of the glorious leader.' With the two leads, Naylorbrookiszna and Viktor von Dotseth with creative interpretations of historical and scientific facts. With Viktor von Dotseth being portrayed as a living spirit trapped in physical form with dark powers, Naylorbrookiszna as a sane scholar of the occult and strange. Naylorbrookiszna is always played as a ultra-macho woman, who repeatedly says they are sane and not a lesbian, some suggesting this is actually a running gag for the musical but others are not as convinced. The Nystatinne dictator, quest for achieving immortality through rituals to increase their mental powers and become further sane, despite already being sane in the first place. Dotseth is portrayed as a kemonomimi man wearing women's kimono, while sing and talking in a woman's tone of voice. The running side plot of the musical is Naylorbrookiszna and Dotseth wanting to spend time together in a non-romantic matter but never able to due to various events. The musical includes several other historical figures but their names change from each time the musical is performed.

Act One

The musical opens with Naylorbrookiszna and Dotseth having a meeting outside of the temporary congress building of Nystatiszna in 1920, sharing a cigarette and opening the first musical number of the act, ("Strength in Two.") Dotseth spends time contacting various spies throughout the country, ("Flickering") and having a discussion with the current president of the provisional government, ("Knife in the front") about their concerns about Naylorbrookiszna personal army not standing down. Dotseth reassures the president that he will prevent her from taking over the government. Later Naylorbrookiszna is giving a speech to their officers about taking over the government ("For Nystatiszna!"), strangling a officer to death when they question if they should coup the government. Giving another speech that she is the most Borean to has ever existed, despite being born in Aurora ("She's Borean!") and ordering her troops to prepare for seizing control of the government.

Month later, Dotseth and Naylorbrookiszna talk at a dance in the reminds of a colonial garrison's headquarters, talking about the battle over it and the battle soon to come ("We Revolt"). Later on sharing a dance together ("We are normal and sane") to which the president of Nystatiszna notices and dances with Dotseth after ("Oath unbroken") demanding him to explain why him and Naylorbrookiszna was talking about, reminding him of his oath to the Nystatiszna. Dotseth reassures the president that he is taking the right steps to prevent Naylorbrookiszna from seizing power, by getting her to trust him ("The Secret") promising he will always keep to his oath to protect Nystatiszna. The president is assured but still holds some doubts, but lacks the ability to check Dotseth's spy and covert network. ("Can we trust him?") After talk with the president Dotseth goes to a nearby destroyed shrine, swearing an oath to spirits of Nystatiszna, ("Yes!") that he will assure the country is always free from evil seeking to destroy it.

In rural Nystatiszna Naylorbrookiszna and her officers are chasing after a former slave owner and his family on horseback ("Run slaver run") When they catch them, they execute the family, and Naylorbrookiszna destroys their spirits with her magic. Later meeting up with Dotseth in the village of Sørelv, he questions why she is bloody and she informs him of the successful hunt of slavers, stating when she takes power. She will seek retribution for all Nystatinnes against the Z'rei, to which Dotseth reminds her that he is a Z'rei. ("He's the good one.") Naylorbrookiszna assures him that he's not a Z'rei but a spirit cruelly trapped in a evil form, and Dotseth replies that she cannot kill all of them, but she can kill the most of them. ("The negotiator") Later on in the night, they share a bottle, and Naylorbrookiszna talks about her plans for the country to turn Nystatiszna into a Martovist style state, plans for invading all of Borea and killing all the colonizers for the glory of Akua. ("She is perfectly Sane, part 1")

Later in the night, Dotseth goes for a walk discussing the benefits of keeping the forever-gridlock democracy of the current government or letting Naylorbrookiszna take control of the country and getting things done. ("The choice is his and his alone")

Month later, in the congress building of Nystatiszna, the debate about what to do with all the former colonial officials, slavers and non-native citizens of the country. There are four groups debating about what to do but in each musical the arguments change but it is clear that the side for killing and seizing the property is winning the debate. ("Kill the Elves vs Cowards") During which there is a notable changing of the guards of the congress, as seen by the president ("We are all going to die.") Naylorbrookiszna stormtroopers replace the guards, escorting the correct congresspeople out of the building before forcing the rest of them into a group of the center of building where Naylorbrookiszna enters the building vaporizing the cowardly congresspeople with her magic and consuming their souls. ("Springtime for Naylorbrookiszna")

Act Two

Act Two begins with a funeral of Dotseth's wife 2 years after the coup, to which Naylorbrookiszna brings up she can speak with the dead and offers to speak with her for Dotseth. ("Dead can still speak.") Dotseth declines, stating he prefer just to talk to her normally and they go out to a dinner together instead ("She is perfectly Sane, part 2"). It shown that Nystatiszna is perfect state, with no unemployment, no starvation and everyone has working electricity as they walk through the streets ("Greatest Country in the World") During dinner, Naylorbrookiszna quests Dotseth with finding various religious artifacts, special herbs and spices for a ritual she wants to perform to assure a long spring ("Quest for the white-witch"). Dotseth agrees and leaves the restaurant to organize the search leading, after a month he achieves in finding everything the dictator requires but questions if it worth handing the objects over to her, but goes through with it anyway, assured he made the right choice by helping her into power ("He made the right and perfect choice")

The ritual begins at Scarlet Castle, Naylorbrookiszna residence in the highest tower in the castle. During his climb up the steps he questions he going through this again ("Never Doubt") but he opens to the door the keep. Finding Naylorbrookiszna in a strange outfit, and the walls covered in occult, to which Dotseth says these are not Akuan symbols at all ("She is a powerful witch") but hands over the artifacts and ingredients. During the ritual, Naylorbrookiszna lays down a child in the center of the room, laying the artifacts around them and burning the spices. After which she uses are magical powers to allow the child to enter the spirit realm to inform them that Borea needs a long summer, ("The ritual"). The child successfully enters the spirit realm, and speaks with Fyllikenkrasjlander herself to arrange a long summer, ("Mother Borea loves us all")

Years after the ritual, Naylorbrookiszna keeps to requesting various artifacts, books, spices and incense from Dotseth, leaving leading the country physical matters for her generals and Dotseth directly. Her next request is for the Dotseth to bring her children to she can teach them the art of magic so she can extend her control over Nystatiszna through magic ("She is perfectly Sane, part 3"). Dotseth concerns about her grow more, suggesting that abusing magic would lead to her downfall, suggesting she focus on physical manners for a little while, to which she refuses stating she will become immortal. ("The immortal dictator"). Dotseth obeys, leaving the Scarlet Castle selecting children according to her requests, while planning for a invasion of Syrtænzna ("The immortal spymaster"). The ritual takes place, where Naylorbrookiszna gives the children magic powers and teaches them how to use their new powers ("The gifted children"). Then ordering the Dotseth to place the children across the country so she can always be in control, to which Dotseth has the children placed under his parental guidance instead, believing Naylorbrookiszna would forget about them. ("Father of the country, father of us all.") Naylorbrookiszna forgets about the children, and requests Dotseth to bring her the keys to immortality ("Immortality in our grasp")

Dotseth claims no such power exists, which Naylorbrookiszna is angry at him for leading to a heated argument ("Magic, she wills it"). The argument is interrupted by the outbreak of the Bush Wars with Syrtænzna, to which Dotseth and Naylorbrookiszna take their leave to organize a response to the conflict. At the front, Naylorbrookiszna grants her stormtroopers the ability to be immune to bullets but fails to make them immune to explosives. The stormtroopers seized the farmlands in Syrtænzna but at great lost due to the explosives, ("The honorable warriors return!"). Dotseth organizing a response to hold the newly acquired land, using Nystatinne regular troops and Ny'Sænuri to secure the land countering a advance by Syrtæn'at forces ("Death and glory") Dotseth and Naylorbrookiszna retire to the command post, discussing what to do with the newly secured land, with Dotseth suggesting returning half of it citing it would lead to more conflict the country is not going to be able to handle without outside support. To which Naylorbrookiszna rejects his suggestion, stating all of the lands belongs to Nystatiszna and that her magic will assure they own it forever ("Nystatiszna forever.")

Naylorbrookiszna gives a speech across the radio stating it is a victory for dinner plates for Nystatinnes everywhere, ("Dinner plates") then returning to Scarlet Castle after Dotseth gave her codex of all magic ("Secrets discovered") During which Dotseth is taking more of a direct role in Nystatiszna governance from his position in Nystatiszna Intelligence Bureau, and making the perfect state more perfect ("Perfection is achieved!")

Act Three

The shortest of the acts, it opens with a Dotseth meeting with several generals in Nystatiszna army. The generals highlighting their concerns with Naylorbrookiszna mental and magical powers, suggesting Dotseth takes control of the government. ("Treason") Dotseth says he take it under consideration but he needs to do further research. Dotseth informs Naylorbrookiszna of the treason plot to which, she is uncaring about it. Stating her powers will protect her, and she strikes down the generals with magic, (She is perfectly Sane, part 4). Dotseth stays the night in the castle, where he sees the spirits of the dead roam the halls of the castle and they discuss what Naylorbrookiszna has been doing, talking about how powerful she has became in magic. ("The glorious Witch-Dictator") Dotseth meets with Naylorbrookiszna in her keep of the tower during one of her rituals ("Rituals and Monsters"). They discuss the future of the country, and they come into numerous disagreements but ultimately decided that they need a wider opinion, with Dotseth suggesting having a dinner with all the ministers and reminding generals of the country.

The dinner is hosted at Scarlet Castle, with everyone but Dotseth drinking heavily at the party. Naylorbrookiszna and Dotseth share a dance, during which she dies in his arms after poisoning ("Tragedy of a fallen deity"). In her final breath, she grants Dotseth all of her abilities, and releases him from a secret contract she formed on his spirit. Later stating she always thought of him as a extremely close friend and not at all romantic partner, as well stating she knows he had nothing to do with her poisoning. Dotseth sings a final solo piece, ("Cry of a living spirit") and orders his agents to shoot everyone but six generals he personally assured did not have part in the assassination in a blind rage.

His analyzation of the musical, reminds to be one of the most cited papers of the musical as well the only one going into detail about the paper.
