Bishop was ousted by the Liberal Party in 1999 Liberal Party leadership election. In 2000 she resigned as a Member of Parliament due to worsening health. Her final public appearance was at the opening of a shopping centre in her local town of Loencho on 5 September 2002. She died of bone cancer in 2004.

She served as MP for Martoloch, Damezkador from 1981 to 2000. She was the second female deputy prime minister of Great Morstaybishlia, serving under three Conservative prime ministers: Rupert Sinkasa, Aveline Tharen, and Ramsay Logrin, as apart of a Conservative-Liberal coalition.
