The Red Krone (symbol: ¥; code: RKR) is the official currency of 7 out of the 7 member states of the Red Crown Economic Union (RCEU). The collection of states using the Red Krone known as the InterUnion zone or officially "Red Krone Zone of Use and Acceptance." The divided of a single Red Krone banknote is 100 øre.
The currency is also used officially by the institutions of the Red Crown Economic Union, according to the latest census by members of the RCEU there is currently over 179 million people using the Red Krone as it's primary currency.
The Red Krone originally was used exclusively by the Federation of the Southern Coast until the formation of the Red Crown Economic Union and the adaptation of member states to using the Red Krone. The Red Krone has been frequently used as a reserve by rural and undeveloped nations or nations, such as Helslandr primary through Federation and RCEU aid missions or projects. It has been a used a reserve currency in other more stable and wealthier nations such as Eyjaria.
History
Nickname
Red Krone was nicknamed "Benders" by original users of the currency the Federation of the Southern Coast, primary due to the early history of the currency's coins "bending" in your pocket due to the metal alloy used at the time to produce the coins. Nowadays, the coins are made with a strong metal alloy to prevent bending however the nickname of "Benders" or "Bendies" has historically stuck.
