Vaskar is the capital city of Drakkengard. It is located near the center of the country on the banks of the Ufrata River. It has a population of approximately 1 million people in its Greater metropolitan area. The city is the base of the government of Drakkengard. The city was established in the 14 century CE, when the Castle of Vaskar was built. It was constructed by Vaskar II, the Grand Duke of Drakkengard, of the House of Drakk. A settlement was constructed and grew around it. The city was attacked by the Timurite dynasty, under King Ashdan II, which ruled over the Kingdom of Chalaigard in modern-day Jumhurikesh, Packilvania. When the Drakken family in the south liberated the city after 20 years of occupation, walls were constructed around the city.
The city expanded outside of the walls as merchants and migrants built houses outside of its walls which caused its population to increase. The harbour on the Ufrata River, was expanded and a formal port was constructed which allowed for efficient travel between Vaskar and the largest city and then capital city of Drakk. The city of Drakk was destroyed in 1631 in a massive urthquake. What remained of the Royal family moved to Vaskar due to the presence of a Fort controlled by their family.
The city was conquered by Saidun the Conqueror of the Demirite dynasty when Jumhurikesh was formed from the ancient petty kingdoms which included their old foes the Kingdom of Chalaigard. The city was taken over by the Packilvanian Communist Party and the Drakken Communist Party was based there. The Capital temporarily moved to Jabal, but it moved back. The Carriers of Mercy supported the pro-independence movement in Drakkengard which through the DCP, fought on the side of the Bedonite dynasty. The Parliament of Packilvania and the Sultan of Packilvania, Amhoud I, granted the country independence and made it the capital of the newly established Kingdom of Drakkengard.
