"Unwritten" is a song by Morstaybishlian/Nagatoian singer Natasha Brentford for her debut studio album of the same name. It was released in 2016 as her first debut song. The song was written by Brentford, Nate Silver, and Gloria Victor and produced by Silver and Victor of Yuki Labels. The single was released as the album's one and only song due to Brentford’s request to be the only song. It reached number five on the Nagcon Hot 100 of 2016, becoming her first, and only, top-ten hit in Nagato.

Background

"Unwritten" was the most played song on Nagatoian radio stations during 2016 and as of June 2021, was certified platinum in Nagato. The song earned Brentford a Nagcon Song of the Year nomination but lost the nomination to Kohmi Hirose’s "Promise".

Commercial performance

Peaking at number five for five weeks in Nagato, "Unwritten" charted at number five on the Nagcon Hot 100 of 2016. "Unwritten" stayed in the Hot 100 for 56 weeks, twenty of those inside the top ten. Estimated sales in Nagato for "Unwritten" are 3,731,000 as of June 2021.
