The solar eclipse of March 10, 2024 was a total solar eclipse visible across a band covering parts of Gondwana and Novaris. Totality began in Marishan Kolun and proceeded northeastward across parts of Acronis, Vaklori, Malaipaki, the waters of the Kadurian Isles, Lapinumbia, Tretrid, Mirhaime, Thalor, Hustreache, and the waters of Galenor in Veria. The path of totality crossed over three national capitals—Crystal Coast, Acronis; Hallsport, Malaipaki; and Vecitania, Lapinumbia—and several major metropolitan areas, such as Faseir, Marishan Kolun; Ídalan, Acronis; Khiyev, Vaklori; Minalkuta, Malaipaki; Rossena, Lapinumbia; Suþrimaburg, Tretrid; and Opalitz, Oro, and Osten, Mirhaime.

Both lunar and solar eclipses have significance in Tavari culture and in both of the two major Tavari religions: Akronism and the Tavat Avati faith. Historically, solar eclipses were counted as an extraordinary festival day on which the Tavari monarch, as the de facto leader of the Tavat Avati faith, performed a public ritual to call upon the ancestral spirits to restore the sun to the sky. This ritual was last performed on July 11th, 1991, when the path of a solar eclipse passed over Sinajärv, Rodoka, at that time part of Tavaris. In Akronism, the significance of eclipses are rooted in the Akronist belief that the Moon is a symbol of the goddess Akrona used by her to communicate with the people of the Urth. A solar eclipse, in which the moon blocks out the light of the sun, has historically been understood as an omen of ill portent or a sign that Akrona is angry. Unlike the Avatidar tradition, there is no formal Akronist liturgy or ritual that is held to be obligatory on an eclipse, though in the past several Matrons and High Priestesses have held ceremonies of prayer or extraordinary temple worship sessions during eclipses.
The eclipse of March 10th, 2024 was celebrated in Acronis not as an "omen of ill portent" but, in the words of Matron Vana Dandreal, a "call to unity." The Emperor of the Tavari was invited to Crystal Coast to hold an eclipse festival and conduct the eclipse ritual, the first time this had ever been done in Crystal Coast in recorded history. The Matron, noting that more than one in three Acronians is a follower of the Tavat Avati faith, called the festival "a celebration of the unique and ancient culture of the Tavat Avati faith in what was once called western Tavaris" and "a promise that, just as the sun always returns after an eclipse, the Avatidari will always have a home west of the River Nandrat." The Matron also participated in the ceremony, and delegations from across the Tavari Union were invited to attend.
