The Morstaybishlian West Cerenerian Territories (commonly abbreviated to MWCT), also known as the West Cerenerian Territories or the Morst West Cereneria is the collective name for the Morstaybishlian territories at the very border of the western Cerenerian Ocean which comprises thirty islands and various sized smaller islets. Half of the colonial possessions are relatively minor with populations smaller than a few thousand. The two biggest cities, Paumeri and Montecadre, have populations of 780,000 and 950,000 respectively. The total population is 2.25 million in 2019.
The West Cerenerian Territories were acquired by the Morstaybishlian Empire during the Morsto-Oan War with the Oan Isles in the 19th century. During the war, hundreds of thousands of Oan people were displaced, enslaved or killed. Today the islands are highly diverse, with Staynish settlers and native Oan people living together. The West Cerenerian Territories are mountainous and volcanic, with rain forests covering over sixty one percent of the land despite nearly two centuries of deforestation. Thaerism and its Oan branch Mauism is practiced by over seventy percent of the population.
There has been consistent movement for action away from Morstaybishlia since the 1970s, with both full independence and or integration into the Oan Isles discussed. Morstaybishlian politicians have been tentative to support these ideas despite it being a contentious issue with the Oan government, due to the presence of a nuclear submarine base.
