Meri Laulu’s unexplored potential caught the eyes of the Morstaybishlian Empire. King Lambertus V begun preparations for an invasion early 1620. King Lambertus V sent several dozen ships filled with soldiers disguised as immigrants to Meri Laulu’s many shore side towns. For the next months, Morst soldiers in Meri Laulu were continuously given the supplies they needed by Morst merchants, fishermen and even diplomatic ships.

By early August, all of Meri Laulu’s towns were partially filled with Morst soldiers fully equipped and battle ready. August 19 was when the Morst offensive officially started. Hundreds of Morst soldiers suddenly invaded Lauluan government buildings and military outposts. Most towns surrendered almost immediately with only Seibhu, Meri Laulu’s capital, the only one with enough soldiers to resist the Morst soldiers. Lauluan soldiers and hired mercenaries managed to last three days of intense fighting against the stronger and much more organized Morst Empire. Tiaro Sokala and the Meri Lauluan government officially surrendered to Morst soldiers in August 21, 1620.
