International Recognition of Cerdani

International recognition of the Cerdani Region, disputed between the Cerdani Democratic Republic, Federal Republic of Cerdani and the Cerdani Empire in Exile, is controversial among the international community. The International Forum recognises both East and West Cerdani is separate sovereign states, a position shared between most major world powers.

Historically, West Cerdani required their diplomatic allies to recognise them as the sole legitimate government of Cerdani. Since the 1960s however West Cerdan policy has shifted into seeking dual recognition with East Cerdani. The Cerdani Empire in Exile generally requires its diplomatic allies to recognise them as the sole legitimate government but has shifted towards allowing relations with West Cerdani since the 1990s.
