Friend of Bjørn

'Friend of Bjørn' (FOB) it was initially a euphemism for gay and lesbian peoples, but now broadly used to describe any LGBTQ person. Stating that, or asking if someone is a friend of Bjørn, is a disguised way of suggestion sexual orientation while avoiding hostility. The term originated from the Bjørn Family, the royal family of Vakrestrender sometime in the late 1700s during the colonization of the isles. This is due to the first Jarl of Vakrestrender, Herleifr Bjørn being a well known gay person and generally considered by Akuan scholars as a "Akuanist only in name." Though Norgsveltian historians and conservatives as a take significant issue with the suggestion that Herleifr was not a Akuanist for a various reasons including platonic friendly letters between the Jarl and King Gustaf the Second, existence of implied threats to each other's partners, and that high honor the Jarl Herleifr Bjørn gave to the King Gustaf. The Great War required Norgsveldet to draft troops from across the country and its colonies. The criminalized nature of gay relationships was still on going, including a specific law where gay men was banned outright from serving in the Norgsveltian Armed Forces. The troops drafted from across the Norgsveltian colonies, started meeting and forming friendships during their service. While living in fear of discovery and imprisonment. As such they began using code language, initially coming from sailors stationed in Vakrestrender before and during the war the most common on being 'Friend of Bjørn.' Other examples including phrases and statements like "Warm as Borea", "shortest city name in Vakrestrender" and "simply spiritual, in the Akuan sense."

Starting in the 1940s, during the Valkyr miracle the rapid growth of tourism industry in the isles. Gay and lesbian tourists to the country began to ask service staff in Bjørn Parks, Experiences and Resorts to publicise their gatherings. Due to virtually every tourist not being a Kemonomimi, which is often stereotyped as a Akuanist; There was a fear of being exposed and the threats that would come of being exposed. Veterans of the Great War, asked meetings to be listed as "Meeting of the Friends of Bjørn." The term spreading to Akuan Districts in Norgsveldet and across the Norgsveltian Crown Realm to the degree where when reporter asked Jarl Kristoffer Bjørn, about the widespread term being used. He stated,

There is nothing wrong with having more friends, I simply hope everyone at the meetings is enjoying themselves and making new friends as well.

While it is unclear if Jarl Kristoffer, knew the reasoning behind the term. Though many scholars suggested he did know, but didn't mind about the usage of his family name as a euphemism for LGBTQ+ movement. The growth of Bjørn Parks, Experiences and Resorts across the Crown Realm and in Norgsveltian speaking world led to creation of weekly meetings of Friend of Bjørn but such events are never listed publicly rather one has to ask staff when the next meeting is happening. New term became used after selective amnesia is used by the staff at the resorts when police or suspected investigators when they fail to remember if there was a meeting or not when provided evidence, "We're friends of Bjørn, is there something we can help you with." Staff at the resorts, often being Akuanists meaning Norgsveltians tend to be more cautious about further investigation or in majority of cases, trusting the Akuanist staff that there was no meeting of LGBTQ+ meetings being held. This is often a example of the Valkyr business culture of protecting its customers provided they're not committing violence act in Akuan view of the defination.

By Business Community

Within the Business community, 'Friend of Bjørn' started in 1960s as Norgsveltian companies started headquartering in Vakrestrender as a term for CEOs who met with the Jarl of Vakrestrender. As Bjørn family often create a personal relationship with companies that move their headquarters to Vakrestrender or are involved with a Bjørn owned company. The term is still commonly used within the Norgsveltian business community as a euphemism, examples including 'I will talk with my friend of Bjørn' about financial transfers or services and 'My friend of Bjørn suggested I speak with you' to setup a meeting between companies.

Friend of Jørgen

Friend of Jørgen became commonplace after Jørgen Bjørn announced his transiting online in 2015. LGBTQ+ movements adopting the term quickly, though it is not as disguised way as Friend of Bjørn. In 2016, 'Friend of Jørgens' was copyrighted by the Bjørn family and a clubs was established across the world, as a Valkyr Anime and 'Blåpåfugl' (Staynish: Blue Peacock) enthusiast club. Blåpåfugl being a popular meme of a stuffed peacock sold at Union Square within the transgender community for it's familiar colors to the transgender pride flag. The anime side of the club, being a stereotype about Valkyrs that they would make anything into a anime. The clubs being usually in Akuan Districts, and by a rule never close to the edges of the districts.
