Allegheny, formally known as the Republic of Allegheny (Alleghenese: Yulkaniaj Kumhuriaj) is an independent landlocked nationstate in Yasteria surrounded by Vekaiyu and Pax-Draconica.

The area coextensive with the modern state was first inhabited by Proto-Bipedaliforma, making it one of the richest sites of premodern sentient species of Urth. The ares was first inhabited by Ursines hunter-gathered over 60,000 years ago, with the first domestication of livestock recorded over 20,000 years ago by pastoral nomads. The native Ursines began using stone tools around 7,000 years ago, iron tools around 5,000 years ago, and bronze tools around 2,000. Writing was introduced over 1,700 years ago. The Ursine civilisation reached its peak over 1,500 years ago. This ended when the Packilvanians attacked, pillaging cities, and killing over 20% of the population, who at the time practiced various pagan religions.

The Ursine coalesced into small principalities and began to recover to pre-invasion population levels around 1,200 years but suffered a blight of disease that spanned 300 years, causing a further loss of 30% of the population. With population numbers restabilising in the early 1000s CE, the Ursine became highly isolationistic.

They were invaded by the Vulpines of Vekaiyu in the late 1200s, which forced them to open up to trade with the outside world and gradually receive Vayanist missionaries. In the late 1400s, after 200 years under the Kingdom of Allegheny, there was a war between the Paxist and Vayanist branches of the House of Termad.

After 100 years of war, the Peace of Kandarahan was signed in the 1500s CE, which would divide the nation into semi-autonomous fiefs under Paxist and Vayanist Princes led by a ceremonial leader, known as the Ursine King. Despite the rise of the Zubraynite dynasty to the east, the Ursine established the Empire of Allegheny in the mid-1500s following absorption of territories of Jumhurikesh. The Demirite dynasty repelled the Ursine and pushed them to the slopes of the Ta'lavero Mountains in the east.

In the 19th century War of the Alleghenese Succession, Rabeed and Qurnan claimed the Alleghenese Throne and were supported by rival powers. The Rabeedians were defeated and replaced by the Qurnanians who installed Qurnan I as king.

The Qurnanian Kings were deposed by a military coup during the Great War due to the wasteful expenditure on providing military support to Vekaiyu. The country was ruled by a military dictatorship that made people work under slave-like conditions to produce infrastructure and military hardware to defend against the Packilvanian Communist Party. With their fall in the 1980s, the country began to have multiparty elections and a liberal democracy.

The country is a lower middle income economy that has enjoyed a religiously diverse population.
