Rugus the Red
Rugus the Red (c. 21 BCE - 37 CE) was Archon (military leader) of Estenes de la Aurora from 21 CE until his death in 37 CE. Not much is known about Rugus prior to the First Estenes-Dumnowes War, but that his leadership and planning to fend off the Dumnowek, and then his own offensive, secured Impelanzan rule and secured him in Staynish literature, poetry and the arts as a national heroine for over two millennia.
Rugus is known to have been a mercenary hired by Impelanza who came from Concordia. His military tactics were concievably brutal, earning him the epithet the Red; such as utilising the first known instance of Scorched Urth tactics in Aurora.
Rugus is the ancestor of the first King of the Staynish, something Alzar I used to his advantage when rallying support for the Staynish Revolution.
