Verlhanz Rothgerus was appointed Prime Minister of Great Morstaybishlia by King Lambertus VII on 2 March 1998 and formed the Rothgerus ministry, a Labour government, which held office with a majority that waned between 1998 and 2005. In an attempt to gain a workable majority in the House of Representatives during the State of Morstaybishlia crisis, Rothgerus called a new election for 1 March 2005, after which he was defeated by Walter Johannes. The ministry is the first and only full seven-year term Labour government.
