New Horizon Alliance

The New Horizon Alliance is a political coalition in Phoenixia, consisting of the Labor Party of Phoenixia, Phoenixia Liberal Democratic Party, and the Progressive Party of Phoenixia. The coalition was formed in May 2022, following the general elections in Phoenixia. The parties came together with the aim of forming a stable and effective government.

History

Following the 2022 federal election, the Labor Party of Phoenixia emerged as the largest party in the Landsraad, but did not have enough seats to govern outright. On 11 May 2022, the Labor, Liberal Dem, and PPP announced that they had reached a deal to implement the coalition, with Labor candidate Clarenzio Metrofane set to become chancellor. The coalition went into effect when Metrofane and his cabinet took office on 14 May 2022.

Leadership

The New Horizon Alliance is led by Chancellor Clarenzio Metrofane of the Labor Party of Phoenixia. The Deputy Chancellor is Renato Mattia of the Phoenixia Liberal Democratic Party, while the Minister of Finance and Industry is Matilda Cannada of the Progressive Party of Phoenixia.

Agenda

The New Horizon Alliance has outlined several policy priorities and initiatives since coming into power, including:

  • Infrastructure development: The coalition has pledged to invest in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and public transportation to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
  • Renewable energy: The coalition has set a target of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040, and has implemented policies to promote the adoption of solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources.
  • Affordable housing: The coalition has committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing by providing incentives for developers to build low-cost housing units and implementing rent control policies.
  • Education reform: The coalition has pledged to increase funding for education and reform the education system to better prepare students for the modern workforce.
