Hoopland Metropolitan Area is a special administrative region of Free Pax States. The consolidated government of the city of Hoopland and its surrounding cities of Batraam, Ikraam, Rihatjublahan, and Yudsahan. The administrative center is in Hooplend district of Ikraam. The majority of the metropolitan area's population are Nekomimi, Kemonomimi and a Feline minority.
The Hoopland Metropolitan Area Special Administrative Region Creation Act was enacted by the legislator of Free Pax States and signed by Anshah Anda Isho in 1922 after Free Pax States ceded more of Pontuarya's land border in 1921. The original name of Kiohan was changed to Hoopland with the passage of the law to reflect the deep connection the squid industry. The metropolitan area is famous for its squid industry for food, art, writing and medicinal products.
The border between Hoopland and Packilvania formally closed in 1925 after a period of exodus of Felines to Packilvania and Kemonomimi to Hoopland.
Hoopland houses a Trade and Immigration Office of Packilvania to Free Pax States in Rihatjublahan. While formally the relations between Free Pax States and Packilvania are hostile, informally trade and diplomacy are conducted through Hoopland.
