Akuanism is a minority religion within Tretrid. Tretridian government estimates from 2020, 5% of population is Akuanist. Akuanists arrived in the region later to be known as Tretrid sometime in the mid 600s as Akuan merchants created ports along the various city-states along the coast. The origin of the merchant fleets being from Ny‘Andrestopp and Aikthudr'zhur, seeking to expand it's markets within the gulf. Curiously, the merchant ports stayed as merchant ports and never expanded outwards as in so many cases, which historical research into the topic of staying along the coast is still on-going. The modern Akuan community within the country of Tretrid, is primary from Ny‘Andrestopp rather than Aikthudr'zhur, primary due to the collapse of the country due to viking invaders with the final death nail being in 1781, as the Norgsveltian-Lapérousian Union fully annexed the last hold of Ny‘Andrestopp and established the jarldom of Ymirland as a colony. Even more notably, is the limited number of trace genetic roots to Borea, being predominantly from Novaris. Like all other Novarian nations, Akuanists in Tretrid are part of the Novari Akuan Shrine Association(WIP name), that being noted, a number of the Akuanists within Tretrid follow the Ymir tradition of following the Lateran Form of Akuanism rather than Shrine Form.
