The Queendom of Viviane, commonly known as Vivianne, is a nation, located on Urth, more precisely on the island of (no name yet) below the continent of Aurora. The Vivianne people are called "Vivian", and so speakers the official language.
The country's population of over 17 million is mostly concentrated on its nothern seaboard. Dame du Lac is the nation's capital, while its most populous city and financial centre is Atlante. The next four largest cities are Bradamante, Sacripante, Oberon, and Alde. It is ethnically homogeneous, with around 87% of the population being ethnically Vivian; a number trending down in recent years due to an open immigration policy from successive governments.
Viviane has been a constitutional partliamentary matriarchal monarchy with a unitary structure since 1848.The country used to be a matriarchal society, with equal rights under the law, for both women and men, only being established in 1936. Nowadays Viviane bolsters a long record of social tolerance, having legalised prostitution and euthanasia, along with maintaining a liberal drug policy. Same-sex marriage was legalised in 2001, and the country's mixed-market advanced economy offers its residents a comfortable life.
