Unitary Nationalist Party
The Partito Unitario Nazionalista (PUN; English: Unitary Nationalist Party) is the ruling political party of the Second Fortunan Empire, created in the early 1980s as an expression of Fortunan Unitary Nationalism. After successfully reuniting the Fortunan Archipelago in 1999, the party has continued to rule Fortuna under Tristano Lyone to present day.

Prior to the Unitary Nationalist Party, the first political party with a similar ideology was the Fortuna Reunited Party, first being established in 1936. Following the party's dissolution in the 1960s, former members and supporters reorganized following the end of the Toscanan-Emilian War and the creation of the Fortunan Confederation to establish the Unitary Nationalist Party on August 6, 1980. The party was created to promote the idea of a more centralized government which would mean the required dissolution of the confederation. The party was able to gain traction in the 1990s, especially as prominent party members such as Tristano Lyone and Bernard Leon gained immense popularity. By the 1996 elections, the UNP had control over all three state governments, leading to the dissolution of the Fortunan Confederation and creation of the Second Fortunan Empire on March 11, 1999. Tristano Lyone would further secure his position as sole leader of the newly united nation during an event known as "Lyone's Purge" where certain party members were arrested or executed. In present day, the UNP members enjoy their position as leaders of a single-party, totalitarian dictatorship, however dissent is noticeable as members fight over the direction the nation should take.
Factions
Although officially the UNP is the sole party that governs Fortuna, there are unofficial factions consisting of party members with similar goals. Due to differentiating ideologies and intentions for the nation, these factions compete with each other constantly. As Lyone has absolute power over the regime, most of the conflict mainly revolves around convincing the High Commander to support and implement their policies. The factions also compete on gaining control over the Departments of the Elite Chamber and the Fortunan Armed Forces.
Old Guard
The Old Guard consisted mainly of the founders of the party and the first wave of members between the 1980s and 1990s. Many of these first UNP members, including party leader Constantine Savona, were actually former members of the Fortuna Reunited Party that rejoined together following the Toscanan-Emilian War. Their first and foremost goal for the party was to reunite the three states within the Fortunan Archipelago under a centralized government. They believed that state sovereignty and confederalism was a tool used by existing nobility and the aristocracy to further their own goals while coincidentally deteriorating Fortunan culture and tradition. This is why they also saw the Fortunan Confederation as more of a hindrance and would lead to the inevitable fall of the Fortunan people. The policies of the Old Guard were vague and for the most part followed that of other conservative and nationalist groups, the only difference being their goal of dissolving the Fortunan Confederation and setting up a centralized government. However, even though they were looked down upon by the aristocracy and other political parties, they gained a lot of attention from the main populace who grew tired of infighting within the archipelago following the war and also feared possible invasions from neighboring countries such as Packilvania. Because of this, the Old Guard was able to quickly gain seats within the state governments and the Federal Council, bringing in a second wave of party members which included individuals such as Tristano Lyone and Bernard Leon. Entering into the 1990s, the Old Guard began to slowly be replaced by these new party members. To some of the Old Guard, they felt this new wave of members were at times too radical, but there was not much they can do especially as the party drastically continued to grow along with the popularity of Lyone. Following the creation of the Second Fortunan Empire on March 11, 1999, Lyone would lead a purge of the party and aristocracy to solidify his position as absolute ruler of the newly united nation. Many of those purged included the Old Guard due to their distrust of Lyone with most of them being imprisoned or executed, including Constantine Savona. In present days, there are little to no party members that would be considered as part of the Old Guard.
Isolationists
Although they would not receive their title until after the creation of the Second Fortunan Empire, many of the existing Isolationists were actually part of the second wave of party members that joined between the 1990s and the 2000s. This included prominent party members such as Tristano Lyone and Bernard Leon. As with the Old Guard, they also believed in a centralized government in order to protect and promote Fortunan culture and tradition. What separated them from the Old Guard was their fanatical belief in the superiority of the Fortunan people and strong distrust of the international community. They also believed that full autarky was the only way to protect the nation from outside influence and heavily promoted it. Many Isolationists were also strong believers in Marchellic Clarityism, and as Tristano Lyone grew in popularity, they heavily pushed the idea that he was the lesser deity prophesied to reunite the islands. After gaining control of the party following the birth of the Second Fortunan Empire and "Lyone's Purge," the main focus of Isolationists was to stay away from foreign affairs as much as possible and focus on strengthening the party's control over the nation. They also attempted to achieve autarky by trying to implement a self-sufficient economic system which included heavily limiting trade with the outside world. This inevitably was a failure and only further destroyed the barely functioning economy. between the 2000s and 2010s, the Isolationists would slowly start losing support from the populace as many felt the faction's policies were more harmful if anything. Also between this time period saw another wave of rising party members who persistently criticized, to an extent, the Isolationist faction and pushed for change. Finally by 2005, convinced by these party members and other economic advisors, Lyone made the decision to overhaul the government and economy, replacing many Isolationist party members and moving away from self-sufficiency for the time being. In present days, Isolationists still make up a large fraction of the party and their policies of Fortunan superiority, promotion of Clarityism, and hatred of the outside world continues to persist. However, as the Empire began making a switch from being a closed, isolated country to a more open and expanding one entering into the 2010s, much of their influence over the High Commander has dropped as this third wave of members gain control of the party.
