The Federal Republic of Terghintia (Terghyntek: Repoblek Keffrysek Terghyntin), often referred to as the Terghintine Federation or simply Terghintia (Terghyntek: Terghyntin) was a country in northern Aurora located east within the Dovian Cape, Dewnan, and on the southern Aberbish coastline in what is today Marislia and parts of North Ethalria that existed from 1911 until 1971, following the collapse of Empirys Terghyntin during the Great War. The country bordered Kaltariezh to the west, Salovian Tivot to the north, and the Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria to the south and east.
The state was founded on 15 December 1911 as a federation comprising the Dewnan Republic, the Republic of Kabdubec, the Abergwerin Republic, and the Republic of Marisva. Directly suceeding the Kingdom of Terghintia, the Federation inherited most of its colonial holdings, including the Terghintine Cereneric Isles, the Gevelles Islands, the Knowkoko Islands and Ruanow. The Oagwerin Islands were annexed by the Ethalrian Empire in the Great War, though Terghintia never recognised their claim. In 1947, Admiral Cadan Trockyer seized power of the Cereneric Fleet and laid claim to all Terghintine colonial possessions from the self-proclaimed Republic of Ruania. The Trockyer Wars begun in 1947 and lasted twenty years. Southern Terghintia was subject to Ethalrian expansionism in 1965. They signed the Treaty of Mäanderburg in 1967 which saw Terghintia surrender many key cities in the Aberbish and relinquish its de jure control of its colonial empire to Ethalria, despite not being in de facto control of most of it. From 1967 to 1971, Terghintia, now a federation of two republics, Kabdubec and Dewnan; is considered to have been a rump state, its southern border drawn to maximise a buffer between Ethalria and Morstaybishlia and its political and economic output significantly reduced. During the Auroran Imperial War, the Terghintian government fled to the island of Dewnan, one of its federal republics, after unsuccessfully defending the Ethalrian invasion in Kabdubec. It never relinquished its claim to the Kabdubec Republic, but was also not returned at the Weyrcliff Summit, instead being annexed by Morstaybishlia. As it became the sole federal republic, Dewnan officially succeeded the Terghintine Federation as the Republic of Dewnania
