Rosamund Island (in full, The Island of Queen Rosamund I), latinised Rosamundia is a Morstaybishlian Overseas Territory in the Pacific Ocean. It is approximately 7,105 km (4,414 mi) west of continental Gondwana. The capital city is New Jersia. Rosamund Island is self-governing, with its own constitution and government and a Parliament which makes local laws. Great Morstaybishlia retains responsibility for defence and foreign relations. As of July 2018, its population is ---, one of the smallest of the Morstaybishlian overseas territories.
Rosamundia two largest economic sectors are offshore insurance and reinsurance, and tourism. Rosamundia had one of the world's highest GDP per capita for most of the 20th century. It has a subtropical climate and lies in the hurricane belt and thus is prone to related severe weather; however, it is somewhat protected by a coral reef that surrounds the island and its position at the north of the belt, which limits the direction and severity of approaching storms.
Etymology
Formerly known as Krainikov Island under Salovian rule, after the Battle of Dregan Bay it was ceded to the Morstaybishlian Empire under Rosamund I. It's name changed twice from the East-Pacific Island to New Mazi. After her coronation in 1810, Florence II had the island re-named after her grandmother Rosamund I to celebrate the longest serving Morstaybishlian monarchs' legacy.
