Primrose was founded by Eyđmar Grountmont and Nikklas Vermont in June 1985 to develop and sell Televisions. It was originally named Primrose Televisions and was renamed Primrose Inc. in 2004 to reflect its shifted focus toward consumer electronics. Primrose took a 4 year break in 2005 to focus on revolutionising phones. In early 2009, Primrose Inc. released the PrimPhone which changed the course of the company forever. Primrose joined the Auroran 100 in October 2010.
