Maladh Al-Taajir (Taajiri Shahilli: ملاذ التاجر), occasionally shortened to Al-Taajir, is a small nation on the eastern coast of Arcturia. It's closest neighbour is Sokala to the north. The capital and largest city, Khalij Al-Sayaadin, is home to a majority of the country's 3,500,000 people.

Maladh Al-Taajir was founded in the medieval period as a distant trading outpost and semi-independent emirate of the Noorani Caliphate. Taajiri people can mainly trace their ancestry back to the numerous slaves that were brought to the colony and the Noorani that escaped the caliphate after the Kéyan conquest.

Religion permeates every part of Taajiri society, though faith and government are separate under law. Maladh Al-Taajir is predominantly an Almuridist nation, with 89.1% of the population adhering to this religion.

Its power, influence, and importance to trade has waxed and waned throughout history. Under Noorani rule, it was one most important ports in the region. This period of growth and prosperity ended alongside the former caliphate, causing turmoil in Al-Taajir as different factions vied for power. Due to its position as a stopping point for numerous polities in the region, it has been a protectorate of numerous past empires. Maladh Al-Taajir has been an independent nation since TBD.
