Jeneral Mawgan Ergudyn Kitto (born 9 July 1947), also known mononymously as Kitto, is a Dewnanow former general and politician who has been the pennvenyster of Dewnania and leader of Gwlas since 2001. From 1993 to 1996 he served as Mester a'n Defens, and from 1998 until 2001 as Menyster a'n Defens. He has been Member of Parliament for Elowlydn since 1998.
Born on DGT Ruvanes Igerna, a transcereneric ocean liner, Kitto was born to lower-middle class parents returning from work in the Ruanow colony. His military career in the Dewnanow Armed Forces began in 1964 at the age of 17, when Ethalria invaded the far southwestern Marisow region of Terghintia (today apart of North Ethalria), sparking the Second Ethalro-Terghintian War. Serving in the Auroran Imperial War, Kitto was apart of the 4th Commandos Regiment where he was awarded the Gold Triskele for acts of valour in the Battle for Mäanderburg. His career in the armed forces spanned 33 years and culminated in his appointment as Master of Defence in 1993, serving until 1996.
Kitto retired from his military career in 1996. Letters leaked in 2011 revealed his appointment as Minister of the Defence in 1998 was preordained upon his by-election victory in Elowlydn, which he did so in December 1997. He became Minister of the Defence in February 1998 until 2001. Upon the retirement of Ankret Glowbrenn for the 2001 general election, Kitto won the Gwlas leadership contest and the general election, assuming the office of prime minister. Within nine months of his electoral victory, Kitto oversaw major infrastructural and coastal defence upgrades following the 2002 Filari Sea Cyclone and subsequent storm surge which killed over ten thousand and caused billions of Owrs of damage.
Under his leadership, Dewnania transitioned into a high-income tertiary civilisation. Domestically, Kitto has won the subsequent 2007, 2013 and 2019 elections under Gwlas.
