Ny'Gis refers to the community of people who practice akuanism in the Dømin of Afragola, Phoenixia.

The history of this religious minority is marked by migration, persecution, and discrimination, but also by resilience and activism.

The community traces its roots back to the Keparta migration of the 14th century when approximately 12,000 Tieflings and 28,000 Kemonomimi migrated from eastern Borea and Concord to Phoenixia due to persecution in their home regions.

The arrival of the Keparta communities in Phoenixia marked the introduction of Akuanism to the region, with the construction of the first Akuanist shrines in Phoenixia, the oldest in Arcturia. The Akuan community in Afragola, in particular, has grown strong over the centuries.

Together with the native peoples of Afragola, the Yallos, the Akuan community was forced off their land and made to work in Neuu Arfliee Company (NAC)'s industries under harsh conditions and mistreatment. During the Dømin war from 1967 to 1970, the secessionist forces persecuted minorities, including the Ny'Gis community, resulting in significant loss of life and suffering.

During the Unionist dictatorship of Leone Ausilio, the community suffered some reprisals, but was not as brutally hit as other minorities. However, during the Dømin War of 1967-1970, the secessionist forces persecuted minorities, and the Akuan community was no exception. The war caused widespread human suffering and reduced Afragola to ruins.

In the 1990s, the state of Afragola underwent a major reform in which the NAC was dissolved, and its assets were distributed among smaller companies. In 1998, a collective of Afragolan Akuans created the Akuan Association, demanding reparations for the injustices they faced.

In 2012, the Akuan Rights Bill was passed by the Federal government, which created a 2 billion fund to compensate the Ny'Gis community, which had grown to 40,000 members.
