In the early 2000s, the competition was the most popular television programm in Phoenixia; it is also broadcast on radio and the Internet.

The songs selected in the competition are in Packilvanian and Staynish, and the three most voted songs are awarded the Quartz Award conferred by National Music Association. Other special awards are also given, including the Critics' Award.
