Fisher's Cairn in the northern shores of Norgsveldet

Fisher Cairn is a Akuan and a Ulvriktru tradition of fishers to inscribe their names onto stones and store them in piles before a fishing trip. Each stone with the fisher's name inscribed on them, according to the Akuan tradition fisher's carry the stones with them at all times either carried in their pocket or cut a hole in the stone to make a necklace. Only to leave one's person when it is time to leave the shore to go onboard a fishing expedition. According to both forms of tradition, bring the fisher's stone onto the fishing vessel curse the crew with a painful death at sea. Tradition dictates that when a fisher dies at sea, the stone is left in the Fisher's Cairn.

Modern Adaption

In a more modern tradition, fishers wear necklaces made from solid metals that are commonly assorted with the sea such as copper, zinc, nickel and silver. Often silver being reserved vessel's captain and more commonly found with Ulvriktru traditions. The necklaces are still inscribed with the name of the fisher, but now the ship's vessel name. It is more common in the Akuan tradition to use nickel.

In the newer tradition, necklaces are stored on racks in a Akuan shrine, usually a shrine to Sakami. In the Ulvriktru tradition however, the sailors store their necklaces at the local harbormaster's office. Curiously in Norgsveldet, in Osfjord and Hirdvik fishers of both traditions store their necklaces in the Akuan shrines for Sakami.
