Eskil Iskerson (Eskil Iskerson; born 20th April 1870 and died 1st December 2008) was an Norgsveltian elven military officer, nobleman and sapiantarian from Nyveldet who has been credited for saving the lives of over 2,000 Akuanists during the Akuan Atrocities by helping them escape from the Lokesleir he was stationed at. With Iskerson having been able to avoid getting charged with treason by using his position as a noble to shift blame on others in his command.

Iskerson was born and raised in Ny Osfjord, Nyveldet, joining the Norgsveltian Army in 1898 in which he was involved in the active suppression of anti-colonial movements in the Nyveldian interior. Becoming well known by his fellow soldiers for his extreme Royalist and elitist views. With him soon becoming a highly decorated army officer in 1905. With him being put in charge of an Lokesleir in southern part of Nyveldet, with Lokesleir being name given to the forced labor camps that the Norgsveltian Colonial Office and Norgsveltian Armed Forces put in place across the Norgsveltian Colonial Empire after Norgsveltian entry into the Great War. Supposedly Iskerson only began helping the Akuanists held in the camps after witnessing Norgsveltian soldiers lynching Akuan children in 1908.

During the course of the war Iskerson had been covering and helping over 2,000 Akuan prisoners escape. Usually through sending his men wrong information about who escaped, ordering them in the wrong direction and through bribery of colonial officials. Eventually causing the camp to be shut down in 1916, near the war’s end and as a result of the local colonial office not viewing the camp as secure enough for further inmates. Despite Iskerson’s saving lives of thousands of Akuanists he would be sentenced to life imprisonment after the Osfjord Trials in 1918, which arrested and executed several military officers and colonial bureaucrats involved in the Akuan Atrocities. In which he would stay imprisoned for 60 years until his release in 1978 after decades long protests by Akuan families he helped save.

He would find himself financially struggling for the remainder of his life with him having lost his land and titles during his imprisonment. Becoming dependent on financial support from the families he had saved. With Iskerson socially isolating himself in 1987 on his 117 years old birthday, following an societal trend among some Norgsveltian elves to isolate themselves after turning a century years old. Iskerson only held limited connection with the Akuan families he saved, including refusing taking in financial support in 2005 and rather relied on limited government support. He would be found dead on the 1st December 2008, having committed suicide by using his old pistol from the Great War. Iskerson has been dealing with depression for over half a century but never reaching out to anyone about it.

After his death the Akuan communities across Nyveldet actively pushed for coverage and publicity of his death and his actions. Including actively pushing largely Norgsveltian society to broader conversation about suicidal tendencies among its older elven population. Which is reported to be three times to almost four times more likely to kill themselves than the average Norgsveltian citizen. The actions taken by survivors of the atrocities to push for a documentary made about him, and to help found the Iskerson Foundation. An voluntary health and societal organization founded by Queen Wilhelmina on the prevention of societal isolation and depression among the older elven population in Norgsveldet.
