Aranthia, officially known as the Kingdom of Aranthia, is a nation situated in southern Aurora. It shares borders with six countries: Qayam, Valeria, Drakaland, Sarentria, Asilica, and Rosalica. The Azure Sea forms the southern boundary of Aranthia. The kingdom comprises the four principalities of Coilletir, Chostalam, Varasuna and Durohame, and eighteen integral counties, encompassing a total land area of [insert land area], with a population of 72.8 million as of January 2024. Aranthia is a unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with its capital located in Faelarien, the largest city and the primary cultural and commercial hub of the country. Other significant urban centres include Lanntair, Aisling, Cultaruain and Cuileah.
The roots of Aranthia trace back to the settlement of Usprian Elves, specifically the Nimlothiens, in ancient times. The subsequent arrival of Arcturian Elves, who sought refuge on the Auroran continent, led to a unique blend of Arcturian-Usprian Elven culture, which is now known as modern Aranthiani. The cultural integration was marked by significant strife, known as the Durohamic Wars, where proxy wars between Arcturian and Usprian duchies and communities spanned the Middle Ages into the early 19th century. This period of conflict concluded with Suaimhneas Agus Sith in 1821, which unified the duchies into the present-day Kingdom of Aranthia.
Today, Aranthia stands as a beacon of Elven heritage, boasting a rich tapestry of Arcturian and Usprian influences that permeate its art, architecture, and traditions. The kingdom's parliamentary system, embodied in the Ocombë, includes a Senate appointed by the Prime Minister and Monarch and an elected Hall of Commons. Etymology
Historical records suggest that the term was first used during the early consolidation of the Usprian Elven tribes under a single banner, a period marked by the rise of powerful chieftains who later became the first kings. The blending of Arcturian and Usprian cultures further enriched the name’s connotation, as "Aran" in Arcturian Elvish conveys a sense of nobility and leadership, reinforcing the idea of a unified kingdom under sovereign rule.
Over time, "Aranthia" became synonymous with the ideals of unity, leadership, and heritage, embodying the essence of the kingdom’s identity. The name persists today as a testament to the enduring legacy of Aranthia’s royal lineage and its rich, intertwined Elven history.

The Aranthian Renaissance years saw the foundation of the Council of Aranthia (1468 - 1820), pioneered by the king Aelion I of Coilletir and Chostalam. The council, despite the raging wars between the various elven kingdoms, was the Aranthian establishment's first small step to creating a united elven convent on Aurora. Many see the Council of Aranthia as the Kingdom's natural predecessor.
Final Years of the Durohamic Wars (1700s - 1800s)

The Final Years of the Durohamic Wars refer to the closing phase of a protracted conflict that engulfed the kingdoms of Coilletir, Chostalam, Varasuna, and Durohame from the 18th to the 19th centuries. These kingdoms, once flourishing centers of culture and power in the region, became embroiled in a series of relentless struggles driven by territorial disputes, resource competition, and dynastic ambitions.
The Council of Aranthia, established in 1468 as a deliberative body aimed at mediating disputes and fostering cooperation among the warring factions, played a pivotal role during this tumultuous period. Despite its efforts, the conflict persisted, marked by a succession of significant battles that shaped the geopolitical landscape of the era.
Among the notable engagements were the Battle of Venshore in 1723, where the forces of Varasuna clashed fiercely with those of Chostalam, resulting in a decisive victory for Varasuna. Another pivotal moment was the Siege of Durohame in 1789, a prolonged and brutal campaign that saw the combined forces of Coilletir and Chostalam besiege the capital city of Durohame, ultimately leading to its capitulation.
New Aranthia (1800 - 1851)
As the Durohamic Wars came to a close, the kingdoms of Coilletir and Durohame found themselves beginning to rapidly industrialize, mainly in larger urban areas and in settlements that had access to the Azure Sea. Up until 1805, the Aranthians had mainly prided themselves on a rich agrarian culture, and many towns and cities in the area wanted to preserve said culture.

Government
Aranthia operates as a unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy, blending monarchical tradition with democratic governance. The Monarch, a hereditary and ceremonial head of state, embodies national unity and continuity, performing ceremonial duties and granting royal assent to legislation. The legislative power resides in the Ocombë, a bicameral parliament consisting of the Senate and the Hall of Commons. The Senate, with members appointed by the Prime Minister and the Monarch, reviews legislation, while the elected Hall of Commons proposes and debates laws.
The executive branch is led by the Prime Minister, who serves as the head of government, overseeing national policy and the administration of laws. The judiciary, independent and impartial, ensures justice and constitutional compliance, with the High Court as the highest authority. Despite its unitary nature, Aranthia’s governance includes eighteen integral counties, each managed by locally elected councils, addressing regional needs in line with national policies.
