[[Ethalria]] began colonizing other areas in the late 1500's. The first colonization efforts on Novaris happened around 1595, close to the artic areas of the continent. The colonists found the area to perfect to establish a port town. Over time, the port town grew larger as it became a symbol of importance to the Ethalrians.
