The Wöldholz Republic was a former independent state in what is today the Cerdani Democratic Republic. The Republic broke away from the Cerdani Empire in a mutual agreement in 1850 but was reintegrated forcefully back into the Empire in 1912, an event which most scholars agree ignited revolutionary socialist and republican movements across the Empire which led to the Cerdan Civil War and the collapse of the Cerdani Empire.
