===Bronze Age===

In the middle highlands of the region, Baza Galleas of the Teba culture established the Teba Empire in 2972BCE, conquering the entire head of the Euclid river valley surrounding the capitol city of Montza. The Teba empire followed a polytheistic pantheon in which the god of harvest was also the god of war, and thus the empire sought to acquire the farmland to appease them. Further south at the mouth of the Euclid, the Soltic Culture established a Monarchic kingdom in 2804BCE known as the Soltic kingdom. The two states soon ran into each other as they expanded control over the valuable farmland of the river valley, and a dispute in 2765BCE led to a series of clashes over several decades known as the Teba-Soltic war. The war eventually ended with the Teba Empire claiming victory in 2724BCE and dominating the entire valley. However, Baza Galleas III led a successful uprising in 2564BCE, pushing the Teba empire back up the Euclid. Content with the Teba empire being driven back, Baza then set about expanding control over the North coast, leading several campaigns against often unincorporated towns and villages until his death in 2531BCE.

Earlier, in 4280BCE, the earliest recorded incidence of Kormistazic culture emerged with druidic communities in the area around modern Fort Sekan who shared their philosophy and religious ideas began living in larger settlements. These people believed in an early incarnation of [[Kozam]], a polytheistic religion with cosmic duality of the two major gods, Sek and Noct. Followers were commonly divided into two sects, following either Sek; the god of life and creation, or Noct; the god of reclamation and the afterlife, respectively. The two sects initially had coexisting cultures, with the Sek peoples striving for internal peace, bountiful harvest, education, and love, whilst the Noct peoples strove for craft, trade, tradition, and order, though it later became more common to embody both after several skirmishes between rival settlements of opposite worhsipworship. In 2108BCE, the Kormistazic city state of Sekapolis was founded and by 2076BCE local communities had been incorporated under a body known as the Kormistazic Holy Confederacy ruled by a cabal of Kozam priests. In 1998BCE, the easterlywesterly neighbouring Janus Kingdom declared Kozam to be heretical to its own pantheon after a large number the population began converting to it. An 18 year war ensued which saw the the Confederacy absorb the Kingdom and execute every heir to their throne to symbolically destroy any hope of its resurgence.

With the turn of the millenium, and the cessation of warfare between the Teba and Neo-Soltics, there was a boom of trade and multiple powerful Kingdoms and chiefdoms emerged, the most notable of which being the Kingdom of Mularia. Mularia was situated in the Montekaan plateau of the Zycannes, and became very prosperous by exploiting the vast mineral wealth of the surrounding mountains. Mularian metal was even traded north through the [[Molvian Corridor]] to the usually defensive Maltervenia. With the reignition of conflict between the Teba Empire and the Neo-Soltics and their expansions of influence outside of the Euclid valley, Mularia was guaranteed neutrality thanks to its defensive position high in the mountains and continued to profit with the sale of bronze weaponry.
Archaeological evidence suggests that human nomads originating from lake Lamberta arrived in the region over 49,000 years ago, and were the first humans in the area. In 35000BCE the primitive Chomlec hunter gatherer culture emerged on the North coast of the western auroran peninsula. Archaeological evidence suggests that agriculture emerged at approximately 10,000BCE and prompted the first permanent settlements at this time. The oldest known city in South West Aurora upon the site of modern-day Montza was founded in approximately 5600BCE by the Teba culture. At dig sites dating from around 4000BCE metal artefacts have been uncovered, demonstrating knowledge of copper and gold smelting in areas across South West Aurora.

===Ancient= EraKoriba Collapse ====
in 1629BCE, the Koriba volcano in Central Lyrevale experienced a series of unusually powerful eruptions, exploding multiple times over the course of five years and releasing a colossal amount of ash into the atmosphere. Each eruption caused a volcanic winter which disrupted agriculture, reducing crop yields and leading to widespread famine across south-west Aurora. Whilst there were only a few scattered states in the area around the eruption, all were destroyed in the aftermath, with several towns in the vicinity repeatedly hit by pyroclastic flows and raining lava. Ash was circulated around the Lyr valley and choked much of the farmland. The rivers were said to have run grey and smelt sulphurous causing illness in those who drank the water.

In the east, trade networks collapsed and the kingdoms which had prospered for the prior centuries recessed and collapsed. Kormistazm was amongst the hardest hit, with Sekapolis losing over a third of its population. Despite this the popularity of Kozam boomed and several surrounding chiefs and kings converted and joined with the confederation. The Weakening of the Neo-Soltics on the North coast and their retreat to the Euclid valley and Mularia rapidly reducing in power allowed the small city-state of Vila to expand its territory along the coast and begin conquering settlements along trade routes in the area under a military government ruled by Xuris I. Soon, Vila rivalled the other three powers in the north in terms of military and economic strength and a period marked by territorial feuds between them and the crippled Mularia, driving them all the may up to the beginning of the plateau.

==== Kveshi Empire and Oceansend ====
Earlier, in 4280BCE, the earliest recorded incidence of Kormistazic culture emerged with druidic communities in the area around modern Fort Sekan who shared their philosophy and religious ideas began living in larger settlements. In 720AD, the maritime Kveshi Empire established a settlement on the coast of South West Aurora. Relations between the Kveshi and Kormistazm mainly involved the trade of crops and livestock, though also the exchange of technologies. The introduction of advanced ironworking by the Kveshi marked the beginning of the iron age in the region. With trade increasing in volume and profitability, the Kveshi expanded their holdings by driving people from the lands surrounding the city to create a buffer zone and facilitate agriculture to support the growing population. The Kormistazic government endeavoured to make sure they could monopolise trade from the distant empire.

===The Norograd civil war===
'''Below is old and crap'''

At the dusk of the 1980's, Norograd entered its first stages of decline. Organised protests across the nation demanding national reform became more commonplace, violent, and twisted, occasionally evolving into riots. Worried by these events, Kiet Narvga initiated a scheme to increase national cohesiveness via passive eugenic programs. Such programs were inspired by similar successful implementations in other nations across Urth. The programme was kept out of the public eye, and involved 'diagnosing' undesirable individuals in the population with an obscure disease, and then sterilising them with false medication. Targeted individuals were those that showed association with violent 'freedom fighter' groups, as well as those with chronic genetic disorders and poor mental acuity. The ultimate goal was to make Norograd a cohesive, intelligent, and stable society capable of surviving for centuries, even without a centralised state as Kiet had hoped for future Norograd.

In 1994 however, an as of yet unidentified hacker operating from a public library broke into Norogradian government files referencing the Eugenics program, as well as revealing the existence of bio-warfare divisions and research on engineered bioweapons that was also occouringoccurring at the time. Shortly after the breach, the information was leaked to the public, causing an outcry among the freedom fighter groups, many of which were specifically mentioned as targets of the sterilisation program. Occourrence of organised riots spiked across the nation, and within months of the leaks, several organised militias had emerged, most notably the anarcho-communist Norograd Armed Rebels (NAR - not to be confused with the Norograd Armed Resistance terrorist organisation). It was at this time that a coalition of democratic politicians and political philosophers was refounded, known as the Axdel coalition. However, they were overshadowed by the armed militias that had begun amalgamating into the NAR to form a single paramilitary force.

On new years eve 1994, Keit Narvga declared martial law in Norograd, and civilian police patrols were replaced with armed convoys and military units. The NAR had become so entrenched within society that it was as easy to join as it was to apply for a gym membership. In 1995 alone, there were half a dozen assassination of key generals and political figures, notably Darius Finch, Narvga's right hand man since the 60's. Keit himself was targeted many times, albeit all were unsuccessful. Emigration from Norograd spiked as law enforcement became more drastic. Soldiers in city streets could expect to be hailed by gunfire from windows and alleys. Thousands died during this period, with many tens of thousands fleeing the country, primarily to either Emberwood coast or Staynes. At the same time, the Axdel coalition was gaining presence, and was in constant communication with the Staynish government requesting the resources and funds that would be necessary to sway the Norogradian populace over to their cause. Small democratic militias were being recruited to disperse food, medical supplies and water to those who needed them most, and radio stations constantly broadcast messages from the coalition leaders to inform the citizenry of where to find them.
