The Sedáa are an agency under the Kuduk Ministry of Security and Law Enforcement that historically has functioned as a body guard agency primarily serving to protect important political figures such as the Chiefs, Elders, and Shamans. Following the 2023 political reform of Kuduk, the Sedáa’s function has been expanded to include the protection of the Prime Minister of Kuduk and other important members of the Legislative Assembly in addition to the members of the Tribal Council. Historically, the Sedáa has been comprised of mostly women due to the fact that the tradition of the agency began all the way during the reign of the Proto-Anana Tribe. In the modern day, the Sedáa are less restrictive onto who can join, especially in its branches outside of the Western Tribes.

Overview

The Sedáa has three main purposes, splitting the agency into three branches, following its restructuring in the 2023 political reforms of Kuduk:

  • Law Enforcement: Usually carried out by lower bureaucratic levels of the Sedáa, especially in terms of local law enforcement. They hold the responsibility of arresting law-breakers, investigating crime scenes, and questioning suspects.
  • Protection and Security: Usually carried out by more experienced members to protect important politicians. These Sedáa are the ones who usually wear the signature red robes of the organization, although it is not unusual to see Sedáa of other branches doing so as well.
  • Criminal Justice: Although jobs such as lawyers, speakers, and judges are under the jurisdiction of the Chamber of Ravens, the Sedáa hold power over the management of prisons, rehabilitation centers, and other punishment or correctional facilities. The Criminal Justice Branch of the Sedáa, which focuses more on the management of prisons, is not to be confused with the Criminal Justice Branch of the Chamber of Ravens, which focuses more on criminal justice, prosecution, and defense in court.
