The earliest settlement in the area that became the territory of the Sayyed Empire dates back to the Neolithic era, where multiple daily items and tools, such as knives and pottery were found outside the area of Al-Salarqa. There was also evidence of an ancient writing system called Salaharkeshmi, the precursor to the Sayyiby Alphabet.
