Rorik I, sometimes known as Rorik the Half-Elf, was the first Emperor of Suvol after the end of the War of Succession following the reign of Orev the Childless. Among the numerous contenders for the throne, the two who proved most eligible were Rorik I himself and Yurev Erationi, the second cousin once removed of Orev. At the conclusion of the Succession War, Rorik I proved victorious after defeating and killing Yurev in a one-on-one swordfight at the Battle of Enkhedi (now modern-day Ancadia, Caltharus). His 61 years in power, uniquely long-lasting for the times, was marked by his stern iron grip on the power given to him as Emperor, and under his reign saw the southward expansion of Suvol towards the southern Azure coast.
